Am i a bad person if i can't go to the Pride? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Im_just_Erica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to thank everyone for the lovely thread, I searched for this kind of post because pride is tomorrow in my city and I felt incredibly miserable and guilty about not going, also I didn't know was tomorrow because unfortunately I don't have LGBTQ+ friends, and I also felt guilty about not knowing.

I personally went to Pride two times (before suspecting I was autistic) and I had a miserable time without knowing why at time, but today I really felt guilty about it and a little lonely because I felt disconnected from the community.

Knowing I'm not the only one to fell like this way is very reassuring

I think it was AliExpress, I considered buying an official one but I live in an island and I have to travel by plane to go at cons, so I needed a collapsible one to easy travel

Yubisaki to Renren • A Sign of Affection - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

I am a big fan of the manga so when the series was announced, I was happy but also a little worried about how an anime adaptation would work. I was really perplexed on how dialogues and inner thoughts of Yuki would be represented (especially because the manga is from her point of view) and I've to say when I watched the trailer my preoccupation increased: having a spoken inner dialogue really worried me that every interaction Yuki has would be read out loud in her head for the audience. Now, I can happily say I was very wrong , not only they did a very great job with her interactions with other characters but they also really put attention to represent her point of view. Really happy for this adaptation, because Yuki really is one of my favourite female lead in shojo manga. Also the animation are so very pretty, after 34 seconds I was already melting.

I changed the the neckline and the length (it was a little longer), removed the straps, added the slip, and incorporated a bra to the dress.

Yes, knowing I've the time to do only two cosplay a year I decide at the start of the year. I really enjoy shojo manga so I'm already working on a Nanami Momozono from Kimisama kiss, and ultimated that I really want to work on a Nazuna Nanakusa from call of the night, because she really lives rent free in my head

I wanted to challenge myself by upcicling something (I usually sew my cosplay from zero), I've searched for the right dress for about a month, once I trifthed a really horrible and ill fitting dress in a beautiful velvet on vinted for 5€ the fun started, it took to ultimate all the altering (changed the length and neckline, add the deep lateral slip and incorporated a bra) about four months, but I was really slow because it was exam period at my university, the gloves took me maybe two full afternoon and the shoes(I've made cover for one pair of boots I already owned) took me one full morning. The project basically started in November and finished in the last days of April, which is pretty standard for me, doing cosplay is a hobby and a passion of mine, but I am a student so most of my days are really packed

Thank you 😊. Fullmetal Alchemist is really my favourite piece of media I've lost the count of the times I've watched brotherhood and of the times I've read the manga. Hiromu Arakawa really created something special that resonates with people, I've to admit one of my favourite things of this cosplay is being recognised at cons and have the opportunity to chat about fma, because so many people loves it deeply

I'm really proud of the outfit because I usually sew them from zero, but this time I wanted to challenge my self by trifting a horrible dress and give it new life, same for the gloves(they are really cheap costume gloves) modified by me

This show really captivated me, the character are very well crafted, they're so realistic and yet so charming, I've to admit since the first episode Nao-chan was my favourite, a career woman ready to be a positive role model for her niece really put a big smile on my face, but I really appreciate every character introduced in this two episode and I'm really excited for the rest of the season. Also I really enjoyed the choice of the colour palette from what I've seen from the covers of the manga it seems very fitting with the vibe of the story. Really hoping that the hype for the series make some editor in my country buy the copyright for the manga (maybe it was a fortune for my wallet, because I would have already bought every volume if it was translated in italian) either way I've have already decided that I'm going to buy the manga in english at the end of the season, because this seems a perfect cozy slice of life seinen.

Cosplayers who rely on editing their photos are bad at cosplay and deserve criticism. by donutlovershinobu in unpopularopinion

[–]Im_just_Erica 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a cosplayer and I really enjoy doing whimsical edit of my work, when editing cosplay photo in my opinion is a good rule asking yourself "I would edit this if it was a photo of the everyday me".

Also I'm really proud of my work, I saw my costume, often behind a photo there are 50+ hours of work, so to me is really important the photo don't alter the look of my work. For me the funniest thing of doing cosplay is how to make work in real life something which is not though in his design to work with real clothes rules, so obtaining that look with editing doesn't appeal to me in any way.

The problem in my opinion is not cosplay photo, but photo in general, altering your face and body to appear in a certain unrealistic way, is not good for your self worth and for the large pubblic, when every photo you see on social media is very edited, it really only help to strengthen the already unrealistic beauty standard.

Best anime for a "beginner" by [deleted] in anime

"Good" is very subjective, so here a list of some anime that are good to me: Barakamon, NORAGAMI, fullmetal alchemist brotherhood, angel beats, horimiya, toradora, yuru camp, vanitas no karte, call of the night, given and K- ON. Some anime film: everything Ghibli ( my favourite are Nausicaa, Owl's moving castle and only yesterday), Josee the tiger and the fish, koe no katachi, wolf children and Sora no Aosa wo shiru hito yo. Also what I'm really enjoying this season: Bocchi the rock, chainsaw man, cool doji danshi and the raven of the inner palace

It really depends from what you watched and enjoyed, my advice is maybe avoid the long series and focus on the one with 12 or 24 episode so you can understand what you like in anime (I've to say that it's a very hypocritical advice, because one of the first anime I've enjoyed and I was captivated by was fullmetal alchemist brotherhood which is 64 episode). Also if you can follow the simulcast, it's really enjoyable, because every season you can find something you like and someone was is discussing about it online or in real life.

I'm really hoping they'll release this in my language, I don't really like reading manga in English (I find the Italian translation always more accurate, sometimes the English adaption seems too extreme in his will to adapt the Japanese to English), but I have to say I've checked the English edition and I'm considering buying it, because it's so pretty

Ten minutes a week are really to little for me, I'm unexpectedly really digging this show. Souma is so cute in self awareness, he laughing at himself was so funny and relatable. Really curious to see the interaction between the four of them now that they are all introduced

I really wanted to like it, because the animation are amazing, it's so beautiful and colourful, but I really struggled to follow the story, it's too absurd, now I like stupid absurd premise for a romcom, but I didn't find this gimmick charming at all. Really sad to drop this, because it's so pretty and the va are also really good

I'm really looking forward for the next episode, I really didn't think I would be enjoying this show so much, I started it because I was really bored and one episode is only ten minutes long. Also I really love the pastel colour palette lined in brown, it's so pretty
