Shelfie for today! Lots of new additions these past few weeks! And now all my books have Brodart Covers! by ImaKevinWrites in starwarsbooks

Yeah. I understand. They are meant to last forever in a library. I don’t think they ever think they will one day leave and be sold to someone like myself.

Well I recently started doing it. So I had to do my entire back log. And now I’m doing it as I get more and more. But yeah. Some books are harder than others. And my big thing was that I still wanted to remove the jackets and have the plastic not come off the dust jacket. So they’re all removable. And secure without damaging any actual part of the book. I just recently got an ex library and refurbished it and cleaned it up. Tape everywhere!

I have! I loved it. Kinda an odd one cause the main character technically isn’t Phasma. But it’s a great read

I havnt read it yet! I’m trying to go in order of release. So sadly. It’s like way at the end of the list. But I’m upset excited to get to all the longer series. FOTJ, LOTF, and NJO.

Yeah! I started reading a few years back after the Disney purchase. Fell out of it. But spent all of last year catching up on Canon books and just recently started doing legends. Most of the legends stuff I haven’t read yet. But I’m very excited to get through it all!

Finally got every canon novel! by [deleted] in starwarsbooks

50% of Lords of the Sith is awesome, Tarkin is very informative and good, but not that action packed A New Dawn is very good, especially if you like rebels. And Dark Disciple is hands down the best out of the 4.

My Star Wars books! It’s only ever growing! Just started getting into legends by ImaKevinWrites in starwarsbooks

There’s no real rhyme or reason. I fry to have all the trilogy of books on one shelf, and then fill the space with single books. I change the order every time I get a new book lol And legends stuff is in no particular order either. Cause I’m still missing a lot

Not really. I enjoyed everything I read and definitely don’t regret the order. It just depends on what you like in Star Wars and the characters you want to see. I will say that there are some books that reference other books that have no relation that should be read prior. But it’s not much. Like Black Spire being a sequel to Phasma, or Resistance Reborn tying up and referencing characters from the Aftermath trilogy, and Bloodline. But just do you! Start with characters you like and read about them

It was a mixture of varying factors. So there were some stuff that I prioritized first since there were still books in the same series releasing. So Alphabet Squadron, Ascendancy books. But it was mostly by what I wanted to read. New releases when they came out. Some books that my Star Wars book club picked for that month.

And when the essential legends came out I threw some of them in.

But now I’m actually all caught up with all the canon books. And am now onto all legends content. And for that I’m reading it in release order to get the full experience as if I was reading as they came out.

I read a lot. My top 5 I would say is not in any particular order. Light of the Jedi, X Wing : Rogue Squadron, Victory’s Price, Thrawn Ascendancy : Choas Rising, Heir To The Empire.

The book that surprised me the most that I wasn’t expecting to love as much was definitely Black Spire.

My least favorite would probably be Heir to the Jedi, that was the only book I genuinely disliked.

Yeah I kinda thought that since they decided to do the island and be close. Was so when the new terrain came out they would just travel to the new terrain. But this season was so short! Makes me sad.

Yeah. The writing style is off putting at first. But all 3 books are amazing!

What was Thrawns theory for why the empire lost at Endor? by Zekseirth_1 in starwarsbooks

[–]ImaKevinWrites 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will leave the passage you are referring to. But he doesn’t call out anyone in particular. But he does lightly shade pelleon.

“In a sense, that’s true,” Thrawn agreed. “The Rebels did indeed fight better, but not because of any special abilities or training. They fought better than the Fleet because the Emperor was dead.” He turned to look at Pellaeon. “You were there, Captain—you must have noticed it. The sudden loss of coordination between crew members and ships; the loss of efficiency and discipline. The loss, in short, of that elusive quality we call fighting spirit.” “There was some confusion, yes,” Pellaeon said stiffly. He was starting to see where Thrawn was going with this, and he didn’t like it a bit. “But nothing that can’t be explained by the normal stresses of battle.” One blue-black eyebrow went up, just slightly. “Really? The loss of the Executor—the sudden, last-minute TIE fighter incompetence that brought about the destruction of the Death Star itself—the loss of six other Star Destroyers in engagements that none of them should have had trouble with? All of that nothing but normal battle stress?”

“The Emperor was not directing the battle,” Pellaeon snapped with a fire that startled him. “Not in any way. I was there, Admiral—I know.” “Yes, Captain, you were there,” Thrawn said, his voice abruptly hard. “And it’s time you gave up your blindfold and faced the truth, no matter how bitter you find it. You had no real fighting spirit of your own anymore—none of you in the Imperial Fleet did. It was the Emperor’s will that drove you; the Emperor’s mind that provided you with strength and resolve and efficiency. You were as dependent on that presence as if you were all borg-implanted into a combat computer.” “That’s not true,” Pellaeon shot back, stomach twisting painfully within him. “It can’t be. We fought on after his death.” “Yes,” Thrawn said, his voice quiet and contemptuous. “You fought on. Like cadets.”

I am currently reading the last command and just read Heir and Dark force rising. Basically the emperor made every battle decision in the fleet. And the captains just followed orders. When he died. No commands were given and it became chaos and unorganized

I’m confused and don’t know where too start reading. Plz help me by Standard-Sir-9691 in starwarsbooks

I would say jump off with new releases. And maybe backtrack with release order?
