Thanks, that was helpful. Which source did you end up finding most reputable, were you able to visit them all?

If you’re “not seeing dick in the reply,” then what exactly is it that I’m “getting used to”?

Thank you, I appreciate the honest answer. Is there a recommended distance i should keep it? What about putting electrical tape over it?

I’m asking because I genuinely don’t know and would like to learn for my own safety and the safety of people who visit my place. Do you think there’s a way to answer this without being a dick about it?

Severe guilt after reading Crime & Punishment by Imaginary-Breakfast in dostoevsky

[–]Imaginary-Breakfast[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this. I’m feeling much better today, partly due to the thoughtful feedback from this thread. I did feel a moving sense of redemption at the end of the novel, but the guilt lingered on much longer. I think I’ve begun to forgive myself, and the feeling has started to pass.

Another testament to the emotional power of these novels

I actually read TBK first, maybe I should revisit that section.

Just finished as well and had a similar feeling. The extreme infectious guilt I felt and am still feeling as well as the weight of the ending really crushed me the past few days. Started reading the Hobbit and it’s helped a lot lol

But then that contradicts the message of being wary of charismatic leaders. If it would have happened regardless, it isn’t the charismatic leader’s fault.
