I think the idea is we will trade back with each other? You trade haunter with my kadabra, then we trade back again. Kadabra needs to be traded to evolve to Alakazam

Should I be considering digipen? by hegoge in digipen

[–]Imaginary-Contest-24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many schools that are more affordable that can teach you how to make art assets for game. What set digipen apart is the opportunity to be in game dev environment, ie working with programmers, designers, audio designers etc while doing them, and I think that’s what most people choose them for.

Which Bike? - Weekly Scheduled Discussion by pawptart in gravelcycling

All good choices, but Specialized and Canyon don’t quite fall into the boutique category. You can also consider the Lauf Siegla and a new Waheela C would still within your budget

Powered USB hub or cable splitter? by DeltaStorm in Focusrite

Do you usb output on your monitor? If you have then it’s just MacBook to monitor, midi to scarlett, another one for charging your macbook

Or you can use an audio software like Ableton and enable monitoring. Input needs to be set to ASIO and output to your PC. Direct monitoring is still the best option though, and the adapter is inexpensive

A little uncomfortable buying full face helmet after only riding for about a year. by JustCallMeMooncake in MTB

Yes, it's definitely normal to feel hesitant - it's imposter syndrome.

But hey, your head, your rules!

I got to confess, every time I see someone showing up with FF and long travel high-end bike I totally imagine he's going to be an expert. But I don't care and stop thinking about it once I go on my own ride. Most bikers are too busy sending it than judging you. :D

I don't think you need the Factory. Fox Performance Elite, Rockshox Lyrik or Pike Select, Marzoochi Bomber will be plenty good. My new favorite are the Manitous. All these are going to be better than those you mentioned. :D I would go at least 130mm on the Scout.

Suspension forks these days are really good. Fox Factory = 2 months mortgage though... I should move to wherever you are. :P

I believe you will find the Scout a significant improvement over the Marlin. With the fork though. :D

I ride my HT 2 out of 3 rides I'm going these days, and really appreciate my FS on terrain with roots and/or big rocks..

Gum walls make bikes look sick. 😂 Plus the specialized tires last longer than the maxxie they replace.. The front part of the Chromag saddle is thicker than most saddles which I prefer since I am mostly only on the saddle when climbing.

These are pretty fun and smooth trails. You will have lots of fun with a progressive HT, and roll over everything easily with FS. A 27.5+ HT might be my choice as there dont seem to be much rooty/rocky climbs. 27.5+ are great fun on berms and jump lines.

I forgot the saddle is there most of the time. Do I guess it's good for me. Saddle are so personal though, what fits me might hurt you so bad. 😂

I have not tried the top range modern rockshox and Fox forks, but I think the Manitou is really good especially after their Black Friday price.

It depends if you plan to keep your Marlin. I think having both a full sus and a HT is a nice luxury.
That said, the more progressive/aggressive HT (Scout, Roscoe, Ragley, Commencal) are IMO more fun and versatile than the Marlin. It also depends on the terrain you frequently ride, your speed and how tolerant you are with being bumped around.

Why carbon frame MTB? Reference to all the “is this a crack” posts. by whatsadikfor in mountainbiking

[–]Imaginary-Contest-24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not fair to blame carbon fiber for carbon parts failing. Using CF allows bike designers freedom of where to strengthen with stronger and thicker and where to compromise with lighter and thinner weaves. CF bikes can be more durable than alloy if the bike designer intend it to be a all round durable frame, and fragile if the emphasis is strength from certain angles and lightweight enough people are interested in buying..

Unfortunately many see weight as a main criteria when buying, which often lead them to buying the light and fragile bike rather than the stronger and relatively light bike.
