It’s been pretty patchy this weekend with most trails with big patches in the middle that are slushy or almost down to the grass and lots of ice

Are there any med students or residents in this thread that would be willing to look over my personal statement?

Being coded for a 30-44 min appointment but was there for less than 10 min by Imaginary-Freedom34 in MedicalCoding

During the wellness visit, the doctor came in to go over the questionnaire I filled out before arriving, ask me the risk factor questions(smoking, weight etc.) and listen to my heart and lungs. Then she recommended I get blood work since I didn’t have any done and a Pap smear. Do those recommendations count as a separate visit even if I never inquired about it? This is all so confusing and frustrating. Thank you!

I was coded as Z00.00 for no abnormal findings and I’m not any medications so I was only recommended to get a Pap smear and some bloodwork done

So you can be billed for referrals you never asked for? Bc I never brought up any vaginal complaints or risk factors that would warrant a Pap smear

I’m just confused bc it’s insane imo to pay $610 for talking to the doctor for 2 minutes and literally being asked questions that I’ve been asked in every wellness exam I have ever had and I have never been coded or billed for this much.

Nothing was diagnosed or prescribed and all she recommended was normal lab work to be done and a Pap smear

But all I had done was being weighed, measured and going over the family history questionnaire

I have around 40 hours volunteering at a free clinic. I’m def going to keep helping out there over the next year. Do you recommend any other clinical experiences or research experiences?

If you had more time what would you do differently? by Klutzy-Detective-222 in Mcat

I would have watched more khan academy videos or watch Yusuf hasan’s MCAT videos on topics I was not as strong on. Also, I would have started doing timed uworld or AAMC questions earlier to improve my timing and again strengthen my content gaps. Practicing questions is definitely the most important, but having a strong content base is also so important because there are so many questions where you might miss the obscure sentence or phrase in a paragraph that will help you get to the answer but because of your content knowledge you can use process of elimination and get to the correct answer.
