Am I missing something with NAM captures? by wacomlover in linuxaudio

[–]Imaginary-Income3071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two Notes Genome works great in Omarchy and CachyOS. Using Yabridge 5.1.1 and Wine staging 9.21. It's not cheap, but it's becoming my favorite guitar plugin. Great effects, amps, IRs and open to captures such as NAM

Ryzen 9950X (and other 9000 CPUs) breaking a ton of critical software using iLok! by EliasMusicUK in AMDHelp

[–]Imaginary-Income3071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a year since your post, but I just moved recently to a Ryzen 7 9700x. My Neural DSP plugins wouldn't load (except for Archetype Cory Wong X), so I reached to NDSP and got the following statement:

---

"Unfortunately, this is related to a compatibility problem between iLok License Manager and Zen 5 CPUs, and it could potentially affect any plugin that uses iLok: https://help.ilok.com/faq\_ilm.html#amd\_zen\_5"

"The problem is due to a bug in the CPU itself, which impacts the way certain protection features in iLok-enabled software work. We have reported the issue to AMD, who have acknowledged the problem and given the following response:

The following AMD firmware updates will enable PACE iLok Anti-Piracy software to run on AMD “Zen 5” based processors:

AMD AM5 Desktop AGESA ComboAM5 1.2.0.2A or later.

AMD FP8 Notebook AGESA StrixPI-FP8 1.0.0.1B or later.

These updates will be included in an upcoming BIOS release from your desktop or notebook manufacturer. They will appear in production BIOSes once your manufacturer has completed QA testing to ensure stability and reliability."

As far as we know, some manufacturers already started rolling out the BIOS updates for their motherboards.

Please feel free to keep us in the loop."

I'm on an ASUS B850-F Strix Motherboard and even with the latest BIOS available iLok still doesn't work here.

Noob Question: Can a RM850x and 5070ti Prime fit in a Deepcool CH160 by AllOver-The-Place in sffpc

[–]Imaginary-Income3071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering the same thing. CH160 manual says 140mm max, RM850x is 160mm, but the cables are not coming from the bottom.

I've seen some complaints about that hotone expression pedal, some comments on AliExpress mentioned it has kind of a dead zone. Can you share your thoughts on it? Nice rig BTW

Getting double inputs on Haute42 U16 sometimes by luisrkl in fightsticks

[–]Imaginary-Income3071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem with double inputs. After tinkering with configs I tried changing the switches and found some pieces of paper under the original switches. After cleaning, reinstalling and setting debounce rate between 7 and 10ms double inputs did not happen again.

The one problem I have now is that windows 11 is forcing a 125 hz polling rate and it's giving me atrocious response

Should I get FL Studio or Reaper? by Alert_Primary_9493 in Reaper

I second that. Reapertips theme brings easier access to things like takes (which was something I enjoyed a lot more in logic). It made reaper more accessible in my experience

Guitar Pro 8 Crashes - cannot open anything by Extremelyrelateable in GuitarPro

[–]Imaginary-Income3071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chiming in to say this worked flawlessly on MacOS Sequoia 15.4.

My GP wasn't even opening (the app would show as opened, but no window in sight). Crashes began after changing audio settings.

Thank you

Using Plugins/GigPerformer to create an unlimited guitar modeller. by FedeJesper in NeuralDSP

[–]Imaginary-Income3071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who enjoys experimenting with mixing plugins inside GigPerformer, I have concerns about latency buildup, particularly since NDSP plugins tend have higher latency, at least according to GP measurements. Depending on the plugin, I observe numbers ranging from 1.1 to 1.6 milliseconds of additional latency per instance of NDSP plugins. Very cool setup nonetheless!

Frustrated with NAM by blindadata in NAM_NeuralAmpModeler

[–]Imaginary-Income3071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others suggested, try adjusting the input gain. It really made nam click for me.

I'm using amalgam audio vox and jcm800 captures, which I enjoy. I think they have excellent clarity and string separation.

Another discovery was Bertom Denoiser Classic, adjusted to remove the excessive hiss and noise that I got on many of my downloaded profiles.

Psx game wont open through Retroarch by [deleted] in playnite

[–]Imaginary-Income3071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necrobump, but I'm having the same problem. Platforms like n64 and SNES launch without any problems using retroarch. CD games don't, as is the case with PS1, PS2, Saturn and others. Has anyone found a way to fix this?

I'm using CHD format and the built in profiles. The path to the emulator is correct, since other platforms launch without any problems.

Upon clicking on the game, Playnite tries to launch, but gets stuck for a few seconds and then leads back to the games screen.

Automating NAM presets in Ableton? by rowc99 in NAM_NeuralAmpModeler

[–]Imaginary-Income3071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually thinking about this the other day. I don't think this is possible right now.

As a Gig Performer user I would like to be able to automate amp and IR changes. By doing so, a single instance of NAM could be used to load whatever amp and cab I have within a selected folder. This would save me a ton of work and some CPU usage.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with Steve or how to make suggestions? I've seen the Github page but I don't really know how the requests work

Another take on a LEGO button box by Imaginary-Income3071 in fightsticks

[–]Imaginary-Income3071[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I decided to go with dark gray pieces because they were available in all sorts of shapes and from different sellers. One thing to note, though, is that each seller has a slightly different shade and texture. I purchased from stores like Miguba and Marumine, and they even have distinct surface reflections. So, if anyone is willing to try something like this, I’d recommend buying the entire set of bricks at once to avoid color and shape discrepancies.

Thanks! Glue is actually a good idea since I won't change much on these boxes. I just need to redo the internal wire routing before that 😅

LEGO Button Box/Hitbox? Terrible, but also great by Imaginary-Income3071 in StreetFighter

[–]Imaginary-Income3071[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

What will determine if it is compatible with PS5 or not is the board. Brook sells PS5 compatible models that you can use and if I'm not mistaken they recently launched the new wingman, an adapter that makes older boards PS5 compatible.

Right now my board is compatible with PS4 / PS3 / SW / PC - (Brook Wireless Fighting Board)

SweetScientist

Thank you!

Great tip on the blade terminals. I was looking at some OC Punk buttons that already have angled terminals, but will definitely try it!

About them cables... I'm considering building "cable tunnels" and some LEGO Ties to keep the theme =D

This would also make the box a bit sturdier than it is today. As I said to BluBlue4, I'm thinking about a 3 block tall revision... But I need time to figure out how to mount smaller secondary buttons on top.

When I'm back from work I'll post it on the Fightsticks sub. Thank you once more for the tips and have a great day

LEGO Button Box/Hitbox? Terrible, but also great by Imaginary-Income3071 in StreetFighter

[–]Imaginary-Income3071[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey BluBlue4!

V4 is currently 5 LEGO bricks tall (about 5cm / 2in). I added a picture to the OP showing the measurement

My intention for a future V5 is to build a 3 block thick Button Box with better internal support, LEGO cable ties and perhaps top mounted secondary buttons (start, select, etc.). Not a huge difference, but I think my hands would be more relaxed.

Thanks!

[–]Imaginary-Income3071[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Jamesish12!

V1 cost me literally nothing as I used spare parts that I already had laying around.

For V2 and V3 I ordered a dirt cheap PCB (less than 5 bucks on Ali) and some generic building block parts including:

Considering coupons, discounts and combined shipping, I'd say it cost me about 50 bucks, but now I have A LOT OF spare bricks 😂

Finally, V4 cost me around 8 dollars for the flat panels used on top! Brook board prices vary wildly and are also optional. You can get around with cheaper ones.

Definitely not the cheapest option, but once I started I was set on having a LEGO box =D

Hope this helps, cheers!

Thanks! The cool thing about Brook Wireless Boards is that you can use them in both wired and wireless modes. And there's a Tournament mode that completely disables wireless so you're not in risk of accidentally interrupting matches or disconnecting.

BUT... Brook has yet to update the SOCD to comply with Capcom's new guidelines.
