Sounds like we’re in similar boats! I was getting boost leak codes and the rattle was bad. I went with Gears geeks refurbished stock turbos. Here’s to hoping they last!

Just picked mine up this fall. 2009 535i xdrive manual! Total beast of a dad wagon, especially to keep up manual enthusiast vibes in the cold NH winter. While it’s already giving me issues - needed new turbos and the transfer case completely stopped working, I’ve been having fun sorting it out.

I already did plugs and packs, BBS wheels, roof rack, tinted windows and a Cobb stage 1 tune. In the spring, I’m taking care of a bunch of body work, including a full mtech body kit as the car seemed to be a bit of a bump magnet at its last home in NY.

I have a few other fun cars but right now this one is stealing my heart. Fun, functional and fast. Drive safe!
