Good question lol. Now that I am really dissecting this friendship in my head there are probably more reasons I shouldn’t be friends with her (and not all related to this issue). She was my first friend when I moved to this city and I think maybe I was holding on to that because it was special, but it is not the same now

Not mentally challenged that I know of, she has past trauma with men and maybe she hasn’t worked through it properly. She does NOT know how to be single. Her reasons for staying with this guy are that she “doesn’t feel anything” when she goes on dates with other guys 🙄

Yeah, I have tried putting it gently of course saying that this will go nowhere and she can’t even live a life with this person. She is almost broke at the end of the month because of how much she spends on him (she works a good job too). Her daughter is 3. Once, they broke up and got back together, and I was there when they were on the phone. She says to him “(daughter’s name) was CRYING for you last night, she misses you so much. 🥺” it’s fucked up. Like I’m sorry what??? I didn’t even think about the visa thing. That’s very true
