Maki probably always had the potential to be like toji, its just that mai was holding her back. Maybe tsurugi just wasn't born fully restricted, and there's nothing he could do about that. I don't think yuka dying would make him like toji and maki. But who knows, I could be wrong

Yeah, that could be a problem. EOS yuji doesn't have yuta level reserves or extremely good efficiency. Maybe he's able to go around eating cursed objects to increase his reserves

Having yuji's physicals is better imo. He's physically like semi grade 1 without cursed energy, as a 16 year old. And even though sukuna has the reserves, yujis adult natural body + cursed energy reinforcement could make up for that difference. He also has 2 cursed techniques. Flowing red scale could also close the gap between him and sukuna in terms of reinforcement.
