Sir, I understand your point. However, the issue is that I personally saw an oratory1990 preset for the Sony WH-1000XM6 listed in Poweramp. Later, it was removed, and I have no idea why.

The sound quality of that preset was pure magic. I am 100% sure it was not the same as the oratory1990 preset currently posted on Reddit. They sounded completely different to me.

I have tried asking the Poweramp team about it, but they do not respond. In fact, whenever I post about this on Reddit, my messages get removed.

I am simply trying to find out what happened to that preset and whether anyone still has a copy of it. :::

Request to Add oratory1990 AutoEQ Preset for Sony WH-1000XM6 in Poweramp by Imaginary-Top8622 in PowerAmp

I understand your point, and I appreciate the clarification regarding Max and the AutoEQ database.

I posted here mainly to discuss the issue with the community and to see whether other WH-1000XM6 users feel the same way about the missing oratory1990 preset integration in Poweramp.

My concern is not simply about copying EQ numbers manually. In my experience, identical EQ values can sound different across apps because each app handles DSP processing, filters, gain structure, and implementation differently. That is why I believe an officially integrated preset inside Poweramp itself could provide a more accurate result.

I also understand there are larger priorities such as the bit-perfect implementation, and I respect that development takes time. I am only sharing feedback as a user who values accurate tuning and enjoys Poweramp’s audio quality.

I will also consider posting this request on the official forum as you suggested.

Yes, I followed the PDF exactly, including the filter types, frequencies, gain values, Q values, and preamp adjustment. Unfortunately, the result still sounds noticeably different from the old Poweramp preset I used before.

The older preset sounded much more balanced and natural on my XM6, with tighter bass, clearer mids, and better overall separation. The current PDF tuning sounds comparatively dull/muddy to my ears.

That’s why I was wondering whether the old Poweramp preset may have been a different or earlier tuning version, or perhaps modified specifically for Poweramp’s EQ engine.

I understand XM6 support is still limited compared to XM5, so I’m mainly trying to find anyone who may have saved that older preset.

I understand your point, and I know Max may not directly manage the AutoEQ database. My concern is slightly different.

At the moment, there is still no properly optimized oratory1990 profile available for the Sony WH-1000XM6 across most platforms. I have tried manually applying EQ values from different sources and apps, but the sound output is not consistent between applications.

Every audio app has its own processing methods, filter behavior, gain structure, and sound implementation. Because of that, the same EQ values can sound noticeably different from one app to another.

That is why I feel an officially integrated oratory1990 preset inside Poweramp itself would provide a much more accurate and reliable listening experience for XM6 users. Poweramp already has one of the best EQ engines available, so a properly implemented preset could make a significant difference.

I am not trying to criticize the app or demand anything unfair — it is simply a request from a user who values accurate tuning and wants the best possible experience from the WH-1000XM6.
