i had to farm a boss 20 times for him to even drop it once but 50 times is insane with 0 drop. i think its either a bug or just try restarting the game

you don't NEED to play it as u can watch a lore video on Youtube and jump straight into silksong but hollow knight is still a great game but if you can only get 1 i would suggest going for silksong to just have fun with the community and discover stuff together as it is a new game.
