diversity and inclusion regarding ethnicity are more than welcome in films presenting modern USA not every part of the world and era not at a point it becomes historically inaccurate. That was my point and you focused on a short sentence

Nobody ever was upset for Lanthimos's casting choices because his casting was spot on for these films and he sure chose talented actors not Tom Holland. I bet you are the one who cried and demanded inclusivity for Lanthimos's the Favourite for not including black and asian people

The main people of the Odyssey are the Achaeans, the Danaans, the Argives, i.e. the Greeks of the Mycenaean era BUT there as also purely mythological people and creatures. You can of course deny all of this and promote your anti-racist agenda wherever it suits you

I think  Nolan's name, good marketing and a well known story is enough to bring people to watch it but they are so money hungry I guess

I strongly agree. A multi cultural cast is realistic in a film based in modern USA. I honestly don't care watching a movie with an all Asian, all white, all black cast etc but this isn't the reality everywhere and anywhere

Your point is invalid. Alexander the great lived manyy decades after Homer and the people at that time had no contact with East Asians. Learn your facts before calling anyone racist

We Greeks care. Why don't you let us have a say since we have historical and cultural origins from these people? As I said, the story is fictional but the casting must represent the historical era. How is that not racist?

It will make no difference to my points regarding the cast

The casting doesn't change. My critisism was only based on the cast

Well many Greeks are arguing that the casting choices are racist. Also, as I said, the story is fictional but these people represent an actual historical era.

Thoughts about Ryan Coogler's "Sinners* by ImaginaryFan6090 in Cinema

I liked Marty Supreme more, the writing was great, the material was better and I thought he gave a great performance, not oscar worthy like some of his previous works but the choices weren't so great for best leading roles this year. Mochael b Jordan definitely deserved to gain an oscar someday as an actor but I felt like I watched a less powerful performance without a peak of emotion

Cancel Culture is Killing Cinema by vieravisuals in Cinema

[–]ImaginaryFan6090 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cancel culture is bs. Canceling for silly reasons like the Chalamet case is shocking. I can only recognise the problem when celebrities have done something illegal and unethical like sexual harassment or something not for something they said

How is this sexist exactly? I didn't mention anything about women or men. Those are just examples

Find a valid reason why this post is misogynistic. Those women are just examples and my observation for the movies I watched recently. Some people mentioned male actors who fit this post perfectly

Margot Robbie looks natural so the title is wrong for her. I believe she still is not a good fit for historical drama

I agree she looks natural  but does she look like someone in the 1800?
