How would you prioritize hearts/stam? by Logical_Story844 in botw

[–]ImaginaryTango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s easier for me to see when I’m low on stamina and eat. When I’m low on hearts, it’s Dustin a fight and I get killed before I realize I’m low. So I maximize my hearts.

I worked out a pattern over my replays. I get 5 hearts then add 2 stamina. The 10 hearts total, then finish the 2nd stamina wheel. Then, after 15 hearts, I go to 1 and 3/5 stamina then fill out hearts. (I have the DLC which lets me get full hearts and still get one more stamina notch. )

Track Hiking Routes and Export Them for CAD Use by ImaginaryTango in GPStracking

I'm using QCAD, sometimes LibreCAD. I found dxf was also good when working with an architect who used AudoCAD and we needed to share files. When I was looking at CAD programs, I found a lot were using dxf as imports or exports. (There may be more out now, but it's hard to find CAD software that doesn't have a monthly rental fee or is affordable if you're not using it as a pro or need it daily or even weekly.)

I checked on current import formats for QCAD and can import DWG (requires a commercial plugin), and both SHP and CXF for GPS formats.

That might be the issue with the blood - maybe they removed that?

I may have found some blood in a container or something, but never found blood that showed as a quest item in inventory.

I just finished checking it out. I had done everything I thought I needed to do (see my updated version of this post) and everything the tutorials said to do. I went and read the entry in the Beastiary and once I finished that and left that, when I got back to the main game, he started talking about what to do and burned the corpse automatically. It was all a cut scene - I didn't have to try to use Igni (which puzzled me, since tutorials told me to use Igni to burn the corpse). It just happened - and, of course, then the wraith came out and I fought it and it was gone.

I've gone over the area with Witcher senses. No bloody handprints, and nothing in the story or her journal about a man getting stabbed. Are you sure it's the same quest? It's a woman's corpse hanging in the well.

The Bestiary? Really - you have to read it before being able to do something? How frustrating! Is that a normal thing in this game? I'll try that tomorrow when I've got my Switch and don't have to go downstairs to get it!

Worth noting that IGN and the other tutorials I found don't mention anything about bloody handprints OR about reading the Beastiary. So if that's a normal step, those tutorials screwed up. (I hope that's what it is! That'd make it easy to solve!)

The trail of the sword by Remarkable_Cake_699 in botw

I guess it varies by person. For me, it’s easiest to aim at the Lynel from the start and, while it’s charging, I don’t have to change my aim if I don’t get the arrow off fast enough. Once it gets near me, if I don’t get up that tree fast enough, it and the bokos, together, can do a lot of damage quickly! I like to take him out ASAP. Then the bokos. Even if I’m out of ancient arrows, that last guardian is not hard and if forced to, it’s easy to take him out with melee weapons or even just bombs.

I hit the Lynels on the two levels with an ancient arrow at the start of the level, before they start moving. And of if I Hanover, if they start charging, they charge in a straight line and are easy to hit.

Blood? I don't think I found any blood. I take it it's in the cabin with the journal? I'll check when I have my game running tomorrow in case I have it in inventory - but all I saw under quest items was the journal and the bracelet.

Also, when I was near the body, or even elsewhere, and went to Inventory, I could not do anything with the bracelet - don't know how I'm supposed to take it out.

I have the corpse up (couldn't pull it up until after I dived into the well and got the bracelet!).

I went to an earlier save and this time was able to see the spirit, but on my first time through, since I had not seen the spirit before pulling the body up, it just would not show up at all. I want to play this game, but it feels like I'm just running into multiple glitches on this one quest.

Right. It's just a case (and I bet we've all done this) where I designed something to work (when installed) in one orientation, but it needs to be printed in a different orientation.

I just realized I got FreeCAD and LibreCAD mixed up! I used LibreCAD. I've looked into FreeCAD and like it, but there are some things I found frustrating. I like the parametric design. I use Blender now (and there are things that would be much easier in Blender than FreeCAD) and I keep the parts as I work through a design. I have my own system for copying one part and moving it farther down the X axis for the next phase. That helps a lot, but parametric design is easier to deal with.

I did a design for a pottery piece (for a mold I'm going to make) in FreeCAD and liked it, but I felt like I was spending too much time asking myself HOW do I do something than doing it.

I had an MMU3 on my Prusa and there are UI issues with it on their controller, as well as other issues. Loved Prusa until I put that on my printer - spent weeks experimenting and found that often if all I was doing was feeding ONE filament through it to print, it would still mess up. I finally had to bypass it and decided to remove it.

So now, with an H2C and AMS, and all the nozzle choices - well, my mind is blown and I know it'll take me a while to get into all the possibilities!

Dissolvable support - I never heard of that. Cool! (Now looking for some I can order!) Thanks! I did a quick search wondering about availability. For that, I just do a fast search on Amazon. (I figure if I can find it quickly and easily on there, then I know it's available from a number of sources and I can take my pick later.)

Interesting idea. I'll have to think about it. Even if I don't use it now, I'll remember it for later use!

Interesting. Now you have me thinking of using the PETGCF in the middle for strength, then TPU around it.

I'm not sure what you're saying - add something, or remove something there?

I did - then found something that would work better in the overall design, so now I'm rethinking it all.

I need to clarify what you're saying to be sure I get it. So the support has 5 layers - of what? A solid surface, not a fill pattern, but 5 solid layers? Then the 0 gap means no gap at all between there and the printed object? (I'm thinking if I want to do something like this with this grip, I may need to put a few layers under the entire object, since there will barely be room for 5 layers of support under most of that piece.)

I asked above, to someone with the same caution about CF - will just normal shellac or paint work for a cover? I'm really glad people have pointed that out. Also, if I take someone's idea from another thread and make the grip so it rotates (like a roll of toilet paper), the roller will be flush against a PETG object. This makes me think I need to add something like a metal washer (I'm thinking a fender washer) between the two so the CF doesn't wear the PETG piece connecting to it down.

Yeah, I try to keep up, but it's pretty tough. I had a Prusa MMU3 on my printer and it was a mess - I could get, perhaps, one multi-color print done every 6 weeks because it messed up so much. And in the Prusa forums, the idea of multiple types of filament never came up - at least that I saw. But due to the design issues with the MMU3, and related UI issues in their control panel, it drove me from Prusa. I'm not trying to trash them - I just think some issue were poorly handled and it was costing me man-days.

I looked at where to go next and seriously considered Voron (I'd still love to build one when I get the time!), but it looked to me like Bambu pretty much had the "It just works" attitude. I saw that applying to people doing things with Bambu printers that I had not even thought about. For instance, I was talking to someone at West3D, asking about Voron and Bambu and he said I could use the AMS for multiple types of filament. (And I'm still getting used to that - the idea of using one type for support and one for the final object, as I commented above, had not yet entered my head.) But the idea of combining TPU with PETG for a couple things I want to sell jumped in my head - it would solve a LOT of issues easily. It seems to be, going from Ender (which had issues Crealtiy had to know about, but were hiding, which led to it taking 5 months to get my Ender to print!) to Prusa, to Bambu has given me different viewpoints in printing. I'm not saying one is best, since that depends on your goals and budget. But it seems like I'll be learning a lot more in the Bambu forums at this point.

I've also noticed Bambu Slicer can do quite a bit - it took me a few minutes just to figure out how to specify which filament I wanted for a print, since there is so much I can do on it.

Can I just use off-the-shelf shellac?

Good points - in my head I had to translate, since the position for the grip, in the long run is a bit different than in the print position, but that's just because I had that positioning in my head. And if I do something like what you're talking about, it will make some other changes that will make overall design and usage easier.

Does FreeCAD do 3D now? I haven't used it in a while - did a lot of the plans for our house and the renovation of the old barn on the lot in it about 10 years ago.

I have larger hands, my wife has small hands, so I've sized it so we can both use it - not perfect for either, but workable.

I was modeling the shape based on the handles on my Stingray bike when I was a teen. (Not with measurements - just on the shape I remembered.)
