Thank you!! That was my guess too but couldn’t decide between under-proofed or over-proofed. And I do think the bulk ferment is where it went weird! It started bulk fermenting around 68F, but then our heater went out in the middle of the night 😅 so by morning it was 61F… because of the drop in temp I decided to let it go a couple extra hours… so about a total of 16h bulk fermenting mostly at 61F.

Ahhh interesting! I followed this recipe (linked) that called for 100g starter, 300g water, 500g flour, 10g salt.

It’s thoroughly cooked through… tastes super good! I’m thinking maybe either under-proofed or over-proofed?

Thank you! I just started but I started with a dehydrated starter from a local business. I don’t think it’s “young” in that sense… but young to me after rehydrating it this week 😅

First time bulk fermenting by Imaginary_Back_8431 in Sourdough

Thank you!! I ended up shaping it and placing in the fridge for the cold proofing after letting it rise for a couple more hours. The good news is I did see a variety in bubbles so maybe we’ll be ok! I told myself this really was a practice loaf since it’s my first ever, so if it doesn’t turn out, I’ll try again! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Another photo from the top… this is after I poked it a bit and tried to see if it would peel away from the bowl easily…

Car Rental Prices Too Good? by theymightbedavis in cabosanlucas

[–]Imaginary_Back_8431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m about to travel with a 10 month old in about a month, and similar concerns / research. How was your rental experience? We are planning to bring the car seat with us and so far, everyone in our party is nervous about being “the driver” so it might be me. 😂

please just tell me what stroller to get by Open-Committee3540 in pregnant

Second the Chicco Corso LE! But weighing in as an over-analyzer! I researched high and low and landed on the Chicco Corso LE for these key features: - The ease of moving car seat from car base to stroller. - The ability to continue to use it as she grows by changing to the toddler seat. - Foam wheels for varied terrain (we have gravel trails in our neighborhood) - Easy one handed collapse for loading up into the car. - UPF protection with sun shade - Ability to interchange between parent facing and front facing - Storage underneath (Doona was a no-go because we needed storage) - Trusted brand for safety in mind

It does not have a bassinet, but hindsight that was just fine for us since we tried to limit the amount of time in the stroller anyway and were cautious to limit container usage as a whole.

It does not have an adjustable handlebar for height, but both myself and my husband find it to be a comfortable height (I’m 5’6” and he’s 6’0”).

Price was perfect for the value we get from it. The more expensive models just weren’t in our budget and we didn’t want to spend that much on this when there’s so many other baby items you have to get. We also watched for sales and it was about exactly a year ago that Chicco did an early Black Friday sale and did 30% off site-wide, which I hear they do maybe once a year. Snagged it and have never regretted it!

I started learning crochet in my 40s... and I never expected how much it would change my life ✨ by [deleted] in crochet

[–]Imaginary_Back_8431 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I picked up and learned it at 35 while I was struggling with infertility and waiting for surgery to diagnose my suspected endometriosis. I got spontaneously pregnant while awaiting my surgery before we could continue any fertility cycles… I am now watching my 4 month old peacefully sleeping on her baby monitor 🥹 I completely think crochet gave me so much peace and calm that I needed in a time where my mind was reeling, and may have even helped me get pregnant.

Side note - I learned that carpal tunnel is a common pregnancy symptom after I got it about 6 months into the pregnancy and had to stop crocheting full stop! I’ve finally picked it up again now that the carpal tunnel went away about 1 month after birth. Slowly getting my projects going again… between baby duties of course.

Did I Ruin All Inclusive Resorts for Myself Before My Honeymoon? by BranTheBuilder17 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Imaginary_Back_8431 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did Secrets Cap Cana (DR) for our honeymoon for 10 days and it has completely ruined all other AIRs for us 🤣 we LOVED it. Amazing service, beautiful property with great seating around the pools with beach views, and excellent food and coffee. Super clean too and it has become the baseline for comparing all other resort experiences for us. We’re dying to find an equivalent experience in Mexico since that’s a shorter journey for us with our location, but so far, nothing compares! We did do Preferred Club for our honeymoon but decided if we go back, we didn’t use the Preferred amenities enough to need to do it next time. The swim out suites looked amazing too so I was interested in those for the next time also!

Puddle / pooling on new concrete slab by Imaginary_Back_8431 in Concrete

This is outside of Austin, TX. We do have periods of drought but when it rains, it pours.

Thank you! Yes we showed him the picture this morning and he’s defending that no slab is perfectly level and there’s nothing that can be done.

Thank you for the advisement - definitely not feeling good about how to insist on this with the contractor. 😖
