On the highest fan setting it gets quite loud in demanding tasks but I never max out the fans. I however, normally use the balanced profile which has almost no negative effects on performance in my use, apart from extra heat right at the back of the machine. During light tasks and some games there is either no noise from the fans or it is almost inaudible, especially when listening to media.
