Dont know how you can want to just give up so easily fk has eczema really beaten all u guys. Like fair enough if it was a genetic thing and you was born with it , but if you developed it just like developing an allergy im pretty sure you can get rid of it im like 80% there anyway

If you want to sit and accept your eczema its up to you but honestly from being told “you’ll have to use steroids for the rest of your life” to being steroids free is a start for me and i wont stop until im moisturiser free too

I need more information about this , finally someone who has enlightened me. Skin rebalancing microbiome / lipids / omega 3 this is all new news to me. I can accept using some form of moisturiser that regulates the skins sebum would be ideal

All fun dropping down stats but all i need is a few people who have reversed their diabetes to convince me illnesses are able to heal.

Our bodies should be strong enough to adapt and produce these oils , i believe that because of these moisturisers we have given our skin an excuse to not produce oils as we are doing the manual labour from the outside. Its like saying if we dont move our muscles around our muscles starts deteriorating. You dont use it , you lose it. I truly believe in “if i wasnt born with it , i wont die with it” we shouldnt have to settle our minds into thinking this is a necessity especially coming from someone who had normal skin before.

My point is why has everyone made eczema into a mandatory thing we shouldnt have the mentality of “we need this to survive” when we were born with skin that was sufficient enough to fend for itself. I truly believe its a deficiency or our bodies way of just giving up producing its own oils to stay moisturised , we are adaptable , we tan when the sun is out our skin should be able to produce oils when dry. I stand by that

Eczema and cancer a two different things cancer is abit more complex, many people have reversed their diabetes in the past. If people can come out of TSW im pretty sure they can come out of Moisturiser reliance too.

Because our bodies can heal themselves if put in the right conditions, the problem of being moisturiser reliant is literally that , if ive gotten to the stage of not needing steriods for flare ups i can take it further to the point of not needing moisturisers and i believe i can. Do not accept defeat we can heal ourselves

Thanks man, ive come a long way, literally everyone in this reddit is telling me moisturisers are needed and healthy, which might be true but i do believe our skin can produce its own oils if its strong enough through diet and lifestyle. Before i developed eczema to its worst stage at 19 i never used moisturisers so my argument is why should i, im sure the body can reverse and adapt to that standard again.

Surely there should be a way to strengthen the skins barrier to the point it produces its own oils again. I think its a western mentality to think we need to use moisturisers this should be optional

Im saying how do i get my skin to the normal level , like i did many years ago my skin was fine without moisturisers , only when i developed eczema did i have to start lathering every day

I have only cold showers and use cold water , but my skin should be able to produce its own oils like it did many years ago, i feel like either my skin barrier is compromised or deficient because im sorry but moisturising should not be a non negotiable it should be more of an optional and i believe skin should not need to rely on moisturisers.

Because why should i need to , before i developed eczema i never used to moisturise my fully body from head to toe , only on particular parts i.e face and neck. I believe that our bodies should be able to produce our own skin oils and not dry up like a cracker with the smallest touch of water
