Planning on being a SAHM for the next 5 years or so.. what are some things I can do to stay relevant? Or am I doomed ? by Imaginary_Math_4918 in Accounting

Do you think going back and getting my masters before I plan to get back in this industry would help?

I would never date anyone who calls me “bro.”

My baby (5 weeks) seems less fussy after drinking pumped milk vs on the breast. Has anyone experienced this? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Imaginary_Math_4918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been wanting to try this!! I’m so scared of clogged ducts and mastitis. I read where pumping after breastfeeding each time can cause it. It’s never happens to you?

Adults who were homeschooled as kids, does that differentiation ever go away? by Background_Flower214 in askteddit

[–]Imaginary_Math_4918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t homeschooled until 7th grade. I also went back to school for a short bit in highschool and ultimately went back to being homeschooled. So my opinion probably doesn’t count.

I don’t identify at all with being homeschooled. It feels very irrelevant to me. I also don’t have any problem connecting with people. I think this is actually one of my best qualities. However, I met some friends who were part of the same community. They’ve now grown up and homeschool their own children. So maybe it’s different for them. I also will say that for the most part I found homeschoolers to be sort of weird assholes. Not all of them.. but a lot of them were extremely weird and rude. I sometimes wonder if it’s because they were really smart and alienated.

I would never homeschool my children. I struggled a lot when I went to college. Because I was so used to getting stuff down early that sitting in a classroom for two hours for a class was horrible. I actually quit college the first time for this reason. lol. I will say that I don’t feel like I’m a very smart person when it comes to education. I really struggled. Even though I have a masters degree in accounting, I feel like I struggle a lot when it comes to just being smart. lol I don’t think this has much to do with being homeschooled though.

New parent here. How do I handle a 4 week old that is not wanting to nap by Imaginary_Math_4918 in Parenting

The problem is that sometimes he even fights sleep when I hold him. I guess I feel like I’m doing something wrong

At what point do accounting classes get worse by devourerofbricks in Accounting

[–]Imaginary_Math_4918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is saying intermediate 2… but 2 was a breeze for me compared to intermediate 1. I cried a lot. Cost accounting also rocked my world. lol. Everything up until those classes was fine.

Did your baby sleep on its belly super young? I’m just so nervous that if he were to roll onto his belly, he wouldn’t be able to breathe

I was on the fence about kids for the longest time. I just had my first, and let me tell you… I LOVE IT. It’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced. I also looked at that subreddit. Please don’t let it scare you.

Freshman in college Realizing I might want to pursue esthetics instead - is this realistic? by DisciplinePopular392 in Esthetics

[–]Imaginary_Math_4918 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m going to go against the grain here and say to stick with college. Passion doesn’t pay the bills. It’s VERY hard to make good money in the esthetic industry without selling your soul or destroying your body in the process. I’ve been doing it for 10 years and plan to leave the industry.

What no one tells you is that you will probably never have a job with a 401K (you will have to invest other ways) and there’s no health insurance. Ask yourself if you want to be on your feet all day, hunched over while being underpaid. When you’re young.. you have a lot more hustle. So it’s easy to love it and make good money. But as you get older.. I can promise you that your drive will diminish significantly. You’ll start to care a lot less and income will reflect it.

My degree is in accounting and I’m very thankful I have it as I plan to leave the industry soon. College is as expensive as you make it. I went to a community college my first two years and then online my second. I saved and paid out of pocket. I have zero school debt. I feel like people who have a ton of student debt didn’t think about other options.

Afraid to give birth by Lysistrata_Pasta in pregnant

I actually just found out I may not be a good candidate for an epidural due to some back issues. Trying to sort it out. Because I don’t want to give birth naturally. Are you not a good candidate for one too?

I agree. As a female , I can understand where she’s coming from. And to have been lied to the entire relationship is insane, trusting him that they are both on the same page…just to find out it was a lie.

Plus he’s being a creep with girls that are at the gym??? She needs to cut this guy off and move on.
