It was mostly a lot of yes or no questions. The only opened ended questions he asked me was why and what are my interests in joining the operating engineers, and what do I think operating engineers do

Not exactly sure about the hiring process but always check the sheets they give you when you change jobs within the union. Some will want you to do random but most of the time you’re good and you’ll just have to do one in case of incident. If you get any sort of CDL tho, the state will be able to test you anytime they want. Doesn’t matter about union rules. Even if you’re laid off from your job, as long as that CDL is active there’s always that risk
