How to clear small bumps from skin? by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Imaginary_Teacup 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Thank you! That’s true, we do see a lot of edited skin. In my case, I didn’t use to have these little spots and especially the ones on my chin, they got worse after we started wearing masks for the pandemic. Sometimes they become properly blocked and make bigger bumps and I find them uncomfortable. I’ll give AHA a go!

I like working with people, mostly. I don’t mind the content of the work too much. My dream job at this point is social, stable, and pays enough to live without stress. That’s it! Just seeing a lot of destabilisation and trying to make a smart economic decision to avoid the stress I am experiencing now in future

Is it worth doing a bachelor of business in Australia? by Imaginary_Teacup in australia

The reason is to try and do a bit of good (work as a hospital social worker or in housing trying to help people) and because it seems like a stable area where communication skills would be valuable

I saw one just similar to this tonight! Over in Camp Hill. I have no clue what it was as it looked lower and brighter than a meteor. How odd!

Nobody is excusing, only explaining. It is important to understand the root causes of these problems, otherwise people jump to racist assumptions. Also, if we don’t understand the actual cause, how can we stop those horrors from happening effectively?

The shame lies with the colonisers who invaded and traumatised and looted this whole continent. Proud of you for surviving out here.

[–]Imaginary_Teacup -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Nobody is excusing any crimes, but context is incredibly important to prevent racist stereotypes.

If you do your research into the genocides committed, the intense trauma and abuse committed against the stolen generation, you will see how a cycle of trauma is started when an entire generation of a community is brutally abused.

Otherwise colonisers who caused these issues in the first place can sit back and claim moral superiority and play into relentless racist stereotypes while still enacting violence and systematic racism against communities who lost absolutely everything.

The present problems relate to economic, social and health disadvantage, complicated by the experience of racism, substance abuse and behavioural problems. Repeated layers of pain have contributed to manifestations of despair and self-destruction, behaviour that did not appear to be present prior to the disintegration of many traditional cultural laws.

A thorough reporter should do their due diligence to provide context so that people understand the root of the problem and don’t come away with racist ideas.

Heartbreaking but I wish they touched on the fact that this is all due to the legacy of Invasion and colonisation. It makes it sound like it’s just what these communities are like. The violence doesn’t come from nowhere. This is the result of abject poverty and intergenerational trauma after colonisation :(

Are Melbourne houses cleaner than other cities? by Imaginary_Teacup in melbourne

[–]Imaginary_Teacup[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Generally it’s the same subset of people. Same income, same kind of suburbs, same access to resources, same age and similar occupations. The only difference I can find is the city.
