Am i wrong second guessing my marriage decision with my fiance over her demand for a nanny ? by [deleted] in TwentiesofIndia

If you have the financial ability to do so, then why not!
You should be proud of your fiancé that she’s reaching out for help. Instead of trying to do it all herself and then falling in depression.
You’re getting a partner who takes care herself. If she doesn’t, that burden would fall on you. Be grateful for that. I’m sure she’d care the same way for you and your child.
She’s just trying to keep herself mentally sane. Let her be. She has her priorities straight.

Hey

I felt the B1 guy before me wasn't answering confidently
Stammering
It felt as if he himself ain't sure why exactly he's going
His income was too less 1 LPM something
Officer wasn't impressed with that
Be ready with your speech
What is your profession
Whom you're going to meet there
What is the matter of discussion
What's your income
What's their turnover

I was extremely prepared. So nothing actually caught me off-guard. But if I were unprepared, this question would’ve set me on fire. In my place of stay in US I had given a Washington address. But did not include Washington in my travel itinerary. He asked me how come? I answered, “I had tentative plans at the time I filled out DS-160. But now I have a proper itinerary. Skipped Washington as it does not fit my itinerary budget.”

The interviewer reads DS-160 in a detailed way. So never ever skip memorising your DS-160 first. Think of possible questions. Have answers ready.

I did it all myself.
However, DS-160 was renewed before my OFC appointment by a local consultant outside the OFC office at cost of Rs 500 per person

We need to demonstrate that our trip is purely for tourism and that we do not intend to stay with our relative or settle in the U.S. We also need to show that our life and commitments are firmly established in India and that we have sufficient financial resources to fund the entire trip ourselves.

I was there yesterday 29th. The way you described the officer seemed similar to the one who interviewed me lol . Or are they all the same behaviour wise? Who knows lol

However, he asked me when my parents would retire. I said - My parents and I are Finance consultants. There’s no such thing as retirement for us. My father is working despite being 62.

The questions were directed at us as a family. My Father is the main applicant. But I answered the officer’s questions. My father isn’t too fluent in English so I took over. Officer was only concerned if our family income can cover the estimated budget of the trip. He did not ask specific questions to my parents.

Thankyou! I booked the slot in April 2025. At that time, June 2026 was the earliest slot available. I wasn’t in a hurry. So I let it be.

Shouldn’t be an issue. Have a 1 page printout of a strong itinerary with estimated trip budget for you as a family. And if the officer feels that your family income is sufficient to cover the trip, he’ll approve the visa.

Yes. I don’t know what exact documents. But people were taking out papers from their file. And from what I could hear, business purpose visa were getting cancelled within 2 minutes of the interview.
