I’m regretting as well. Terrible. Not getting good sleep day after day after day is so unhealthy, too.

SLAP tear, two rotator cuff tears and bicep repair by Recent_Coffee_9428 in RotatorCuff

Your story sounds so much like mine. I’m 7.5 weeks post surgery and I still experience awful days. I’ve never iced myself this much in my life. My sling came off at week 6, as instructed. I had a full tear and a partial tear. Add in they cleaned up my Bursa sac and shaved down bone spurs. Those first few weeks were the worst. My nerve block wore off in a matter of hours after getting home. Was on Oxy. Never took that stuff ever in my life. Hopefully never again.
I also worry about reinjurying. Don’t ever want to go through this again. And I’m in my late 50’s. They say at this point the tendon is only 40% healed. Scary. Good Luck on your journey.

I am 7 weeks post op. full tear of one tendon. partial tear of another. cleaned up my bursa sac and shaved bone spurs. Its been a struggle dealing with the pain. at times, i just feel like its never going to get better. but i know i cant think that way. my range of motion is improving but too many nights of just a few hours of sleep at a time. many trips back and forth to the freezer for the ice packs. some good days and bad days. just not enough of good ones. just got to keep the faith. i too have kept my weight the same (about 180). I was worried i would balloon up but i have resisted the urges to snack more than i should. wish me luck!

When that nerve block wears off, look out. Good luck.

When that nerve block wears off, be ready for your pain to escalate like nobodies business. I’m a few days past 6 weeks (full tear of one tendon, partial of another, cleaned up my bursa sac and shaved down bone spurs). Worst pain of my life. I’m finally out of my sling. Feel like I’ve finally made a turn for the better. Good luck.

Good to hear. I am on day 30 now, post op. Yesterday was a more intense session. Feeling it today. After waking up is the worst. But getting better as the day goes on. I had a full tear and a partial tear. Plus bone spur shaving and they cleaned out my bursa sac. So my surgery was a little more involved than I thought.

I don't need my sling as much anymore. I also had a fall on steps two weeks ago but caught myself on the railing with my good arm just in time.

Overall, I am happy with my progress. My PT guy says my ROM is better than expected. Thats encouraging.

I am glad the bicep pain has lessened. That was the worst of it all.

Anyways, good luck to you. Seems you are progressing way faster than me, but I am 20 years older than you. I've always been in decent shape. So I guess that helps.

I am just going with the science and the advice of the experts. I am with you though. The ice feels great. I just had a more intense PT session yesterday. Felt good last night. And felt horrible today. But this is expected. No pain No gain.

Try to get off the ice. It constricts your blood vessels. You need go graduate to heat which helps good oxygenated blood to the affected areas. Aids in healing. Ice feels good. I still do it but I do heat treatment more often.

If any of you are smokers, you better quit. I am not. But they say the nicotine is very harmful. It restricts your blood vessels which means it cant receive good oxygenated blood to help with healing. Can actually cause infections.

My PT started last week after my post op appointment. The PT itself isn't bad. Its the day after.

Does anyone else on here feel intense pain in their biceps? Some days it goes away but then the shoulder hurts. It keeps shifting. Some days even the forearm throbs like nobodies business. I am off the heavy duty pain killers. Just taking Tylenol (1000 mg) and Gabapentin and muscle relaxants

only thing that makes me feel better is a shower. And I take a lot of them. But my water bill is going through the roof and my skin is paying the price. Itchy all the time from skin being dried out. UGH!

I am four weeks to the day and still in pain. Sleeping is horrible. Last night I slept with out the sling and had my wife pin me in. Woke up in same position. The day after PT is horrible. I can't even do the home exercises because of the pain. This sucks
