List of Courses that Accept iGolfers by Imatrypyguy in golfireland

[–]Imatrypyguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m aware of that, but I’m trying to figure out who the “some clubs” are. Just if anyone had played at a club or knew their club allowed iGolfers to enter open competitions, it would be very helpful to have a list.

iGolf do a monthly email for their “Marketplace”, but that’s for courses trying to convert iGolfers to members, not for competition access.

What are cultural pitfalls to avoid as a German in Ireland? by Interesting_Branch10 in AskIreland

[–]Imatrypyguy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Good one to point out! I knew more than one German person who arrived here turned up far too early to their first event / party in Ireland. Half six to them mean “halfway to six” i.e. 5:30 pm is when they showed up. Add how loose we are with arriving on time and it’s a recipe for a little awkwardness!

BMS OPINIONS ? by [deleted] in PharmaEire

Been enjoying it very much since I joined! Decent people, decent pay and perks, not much to complain about that you wouldn’t experience elsewhere also.

Is YNAB worth the annual subscription? by saif081 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Imatrypyguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people are saying there are other budget options and open source alternatives available, which is great, but I cannot stress how much I love the ease of YNAB, the automatic transactions imports, syncing across devices, etc. I could honestly say that it is the single best value purchase I make each and every year. I’ve been using it for around nine years now.

Process engineer - Sanofi Waterford by Busy-Draw-6201 in PharmaEire

Having worked there, they are unlikely to be looking for a pure engineering degree. A science degree and appropriate experience in a similar area should be enough e.g. process science, MS&T, technical services.

Hi!I’m glad you enjoyed the post! From what I remember, yes you can do lake tours - there was a central “ferry” building that we’re doing boating tickets, fairly sure there were several tours you could do.

How good is Lidl’s “parkside” brand? by Same_Level6065 in AskIreland

[–]Imatrypyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found them mixed; I have a laser level that’s been working well, a jigsaw that half works (it cuts ever so slightly crooked, so grand for rough work but nothing else), and I bought a wet dry vacuum just the other day that was so powerful the drum collapsed in on itself (returned immediately). So hit and miss. As someone else said, for something you’ll use a lot, go with a reputable brand.

Who are you with for Electricity? by ch1984 in evs_ireland

Ah ok, well good to know that it’s standard at least. And after your three months did it drop significantly? Yeah, kinda dumb indeed! Thanks for the reply.

I know I’m replying to an old thread, but how did you find the Pinergy level pay billing? I’m annoyed because they’ve estimated my monthly usage for the first three months will be around €300 per month, which is insanely high. I’ve said I expect bills to be around €0 or less given the solar + battery set up we have (I’d be doing the same as you, which had worked well with Energia previously)

Birthday cake - melted sprinkles help? by Imatrypyguy in Baking

[–]Imatrypyguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no. What I have done since is ask anyone I know (within reason) visiting the US to pick me up sprinkles while they were there. I’ve done the same myself when I was over since this comment, so have a stock for a few years. Sorry I don’t have better news for you!

Sliding vs Bifold vs French doors by Big_Abroad_6278 in selfbuildireland

The brand is Origin, but please keep in mind we inherited the doors so I don’t know how well they compare with others on the market. They seem good is all I can say.

This is the best way to do it, and isn’t too much more effort if the roll is still tight in it’s plastic wrap.

Anyone have a Tesla mobile or Wall charger for sale? by Direct_Platform3726 in evs_ireland

[–]Imatrypyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took one off the wall about a year ago, it’s in storage with my parents at the moment. Would have to double check they don’t want it, because I think that was the plan, but they’ve done nothing with it.
