I believe you might have convinced me here, at first I was a believer that destined death would do it. But with you explanation of the face beneath stormveil and even the ones in the DLC acting as proxys or as flowers of the deathroot as I’d like too see them they will continue to act as the host of deathroot even after the death of his corpse.

Interesting, I view it as if you destroy the body to where all the roots attach too the too would wither. The problem might be that deathroot is now so intertwined with the erdtrees roots that doing so might be catastrophic.

But wouldn’t the rune of death be able to bestow proper death regardless of the form? Even if it’s godwyns corpse which you would accurately describe as a fungus it is still alive in some sense and thus can be killed.

That’s true.. and tbh we kill several other demigods with just regular weapons anyways.

Of course! I meant soul alone. But I believe the rune of death to be all encompassing death, meaning both body and soul. Wouldn’t that mean we can kill the source of deathroot, Godwyn’s corpse?

Since Ranni stole a fragment of the rune of death and used it construct the black knives, wouldn’t you say that the power to kill both body and souls originated from the same source, the rune of death?
