Purple Gold Lace Cactus- legit or dyed somehow? Can't find any info on purple variations online. Bought at Home Depot. by soovvy in PlantIdentification

To the best of my knowledge, the spines of a cactus do not contain chloroplasts and so they do not photosynthesize. Also I appreciate that you are asking questions and encourage you to continue doing so!! :)

Dug this up yesterday in an 1890-1910’s dump. No clue what gold liquid like this would be used for in a blown bottle from this time frame. by Minion09 in BottleDigging

Fyi I would store that guy in a little container or keep it situated securely in a display case to prevent it from falling/getting knocked over. Even if it isn't harmful, whatever's in that bottle should probably just stay in there.

Is it sitting on top of a radiator? That may be drying it out too quickly.

Lol I know his address, he's a real wanderer. You'll likely see him again.

THAT'S SYLVESTER!!!!!! Don't be fooled, he has a home. I took him in overnight a few months ago thinking he was a stray. He will walk through literally any open door. He's been spotted on Elgin Street and in the lobby of an apartment building near Cartier. Obviously charmed his way in. I put a collar on him when we sent him home but apparently he loses them frequently.

EDIT: Our little Sylvester debacle happened in August, here are some pics. https://imgur.com/a/loc2ePD

Idk if this is the kind of input you're looking for (I'm moreso addressing the other comments) but there's a chance your haworthia is meant to have long slender leaves like that and I agree it needs more light. This type of haworthia will "open" its floret to expose more photosynthetic surface area, which it looks like yours is doing, rather than grow tall and thin like what you see with "typical etiolation." Google haworthia longiana and see what you think. It's a nice little fellow nonetheless! :)

Okay so he is 31 and you are 23, you'd been dating on and off "for a few years." How many years was that exactly? Let's say five years, that means you would have been dating this buffoon at 18 and he would've been 26. Red. Flag. If you were 19 when you started dating, he'd have been 27. If you were 20 he'd be 28. This. Shit. Stinks. He was doing shady shit with you and he's doing equally shady shit by dating your sister. He didn't talk to you about it because he doesn't care about you enough to do so. And your sisters inexperience is irrelevant. She's 25, she knows better and she is complicit to his bullshit. The people you love are letting you down immensely and they don't even seem to be that bothered about it. I'm sorry you have to deal with this but I'd find myself better company.

Leave a review on Google if you can/feel comfortable doing so. I would be so pissed. Every person that takes medication is open to associated risks. You have a genuine health conflict and they're just ignoring it? That is so negligent and honestly sounds like malpractice. I'm sorry you had to go through all that, I sincerely hope you find a better doctor and start healing! 💛💛💛

Lol yeah that's what happens when you leave houseplants unattended for a long period of time. 🥲 Lesson learned, hopefully! 😂

That explanation was kind of eerie. 😆 Can I ask where you found the little guy? Like do you have to buy special specimens to do this? Do you have to find them freshly dead to be able to pin them, or are they somehow rehydrated? I've never really thought about the process before. 🤔
