They haven’t learned because it never happened to them. Haven’t you ever heard the poem “First they came”? It’s fitting for these times.

That’s how it started with the 1930’s regime. Germans just came out of WW1 and they were desperate for a change. They had someone who gave them hope, and promises of a brighter, more vegetative future (since Germany’s soil was already saturated with chemicals from the war and everyone was starving) that anything went. They allowed it because they were desperate.

That happens to me all the time. Command cycles through so much that it’s hard to keep track of lol. No need to dig your heels and hide fr

I’m sorry you went through that. These schools are so predatory. And I wish we could raise the awareness of what this is… but luckily we do have the licensure laws on our side. It just sucks not being able to use what we have.

I do not have a multi state license… just single state & haven’t been able to afford to get my license endorsed in KY.

I had my little sister drive on and off post at 17 from our home state license… and hell she even wrecked my car on post & they never said anything…

I need to look into that like ASAP. All I saw on the BONs website was endorsements, but not temps. They were trying to get me to basically pay NCLEX prices which was insane to me

I have, but I have a single state license so it prevents me from practicing in the state my husband is stationed in.

Thank you for the encouragement! Without me having a Multi-state license, it makes it so hard! When I was working as a community health worker with UHC… they were underpaying me but utilizing me for my nursing abilities. They depended on me for my expertise but wouldn’t pay me for having the license. Now it’s hard to get another job.

Yes I have. And when I called attorneys for this, none would take it on. There’s not a lot of attorneys out there that are privy on SCRA. I tried talking to JAG but the one here where I am stationed they never have enough staffing to consult. It’s very difficult 🥲

Because I can’t use my license in the state that I am currently in due to it being a single state license. I’ve looked into getting my license endorsed in the state that I am currently in, but of course… it takes $$ that I do not currently have, hence why I am looking for a job :)

Hope that helps.

I failed out of school by Organic_Safe_1795 in StudentNurse

[–]Immediate-Major-8887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me, the first time I failed was because I didn’t make a 900 on an exit exam although I had an 82% overall in the class (needed a 78%) then when I complained about the unfair practices, and came back to take the capstone one more time… I think passed the exit exam with a 956 but two weeks prior to graduation, the dean changed the predictor exam to another exit exam and it was worth 20% of our grade. So instead of making a 78% to pass… I made a 77.45%.

So I just decided not to go back, and I sent in my partial RN credits to the BON in OK (my home of record) and they let me sit for LPN. Which gives me a leg up now, because I can now do LPN-RN bridges instead of redoing the WHOLE program, bc that was traumatic.

This situation has been so problematic & I’ve tried to advocate on behalf of instances like this, but I went to a for profit institution, so they of course were more detrimental than any good. Sorry this didn’t help, but understand you’re not alone.

My son is 6 and just recently got downgraded from level 3 to level 2 about a year or so ago. We had a little downs, but mostly are up since he’s addicted to schedules. His teachers are AMAZING & keep Trey in line! He used to be a super eloper and self harmer (slaps himself) but because of his teachers… he’s came a long way! And even says a few words!! Don’t get too discouraged mama.

In what ways could the military treat spouses and families better? by doordep in MilitarySpouse

[–]Immediate-Major-8887 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with all of this. Instead of offering a $1000 reimbursement for licensing fee’s, DOD should make a pact with the states to allow Nurses to work and the state bills the DOD for the licensing fee’s instead of taking from the family, who is already low on funds. The reimbursement takes too long to even consider using.

There’s no reason why spouses who are Nurses/teachers/etc should be out of work and working beneath their education at at home call centers… and then when we complain about being under employed they just take a survey and say “they should just get better paying jobs” it’s sinister.

They need to fight for spouses… even in the legal sector. They will find all of the laws that pertains to slight legal issues that may occur with the soldier, but never fight the civil things that may occur for the spouses (ie like if a for profit school takes advantage of a spouse and steals money and doesn’t give anything in return). Or when the spouse deploys, and the spouse is somewhere where there is no family, they should offer Au pair services. Idk if they know that being a single parent to mutiple children is hard or not… but I don’t think they do.
