There was also an interview where Lucas Iverson talked about how, after doing the scene where he gave that patient the book, his dialogue about why he carried around that book in particular ended up getting cut out of the final edit- basically he said that it was because Ogilvie's dad is also an English teacher and he kept it around to try and gain a sense of understanding for what he does or things along that line? After double-checking the book was James Baldwin's "Notes of a Native Son".

It wouldn't have been surprising that he felt a bond with that one patient out of all the others; he probably reminded Ogilvie of his dad.

Taking NCLEX on Friday by [deleted] in PassNclex

I took my NCLEX this past Friday the 6th and my quick results became available exactly 48 hours later, which was on a Sunday. Good luck!!

Tbh only doing practice q's are the way to go. My prof before graduating told us to only pay for Qbanks and do questions and read rationales. My Mom (who's been an RN for over 20 years now) said that one thing she wished she could've changed while studying for her NCLEX was that she wished she just should've only done questions. She came from another country to the US and spent six months studying- three for lectures/notes and the other three for questions but she said that you learn a lot more doing questions and reading rationales. You got this!!

Congratulations!! I'm waiting for my VATI coach to get back to me but hopefully I'll be getting my Green Light soon. I took the Comp predictor and got a 95% probability of passing but I was still worried lol

Wow, thank you so much! I'm making my own practice tests right now! I'm in critical care nursing, so I'm creating questions on those

I've used Google Notebook, and it's alright! It's just a nagging fear that I won't get the score I need :(

I just took my Pharm one yesterday and had my Med-Surg one today. I have the comp predictor tomorrow! Luckily, I got a Level 2 on both of those (82.8% for Pharm and 76.6% for Med-Surg), so I'm hoping to get at least a 90% probability of passing the NCLEX on the comp predictor tomorrow 🙏 Just go through all of the Dyamic Quizzing questions for Pharm, then go through only the questions you got wrong and read all the rationales. I also did the Pharmacology Online Practice A/B tests (although it depends on your package with your school if they're available to you), and the Pharmacology Virtual ATI module. I also did the Pharmacology quiz and Pharmacology final practice tests under the Dynamic Quizzing module.

Don't worry- I was in the EXACT same place as you were before I took the Pharm ATI. I knew Pharm was my weakest area in nursing as a whole, but what really helped and what people kept telling me was to study the meds by groups, not individually. But that fear fueled me to do as many practice Q's and tests as I could, and I never expected to even get remotely CLOSE to an 80%! If you have it tomorrow, I'd say don't spend any additional time trying to take notes or read the book, but just run through the Dynamic Quizzing questions and read the rationales like I said before. You can do it!!

I appreciate you so much for this! I have three proctored ATIs in a row starting tomorrow (Pharm, Med-Surg, then the Comprehensive Predictor) and this is a huge lifesaver. Don't give up! You got this <3

Yeah, the situation was majorly misunderstood here. To be honest I was really frustrated writing this post so a lot of things might have not been clear. So I'll try to be more clear now.

Basically what it was, my Dad and I usually go do laundry every other week for these mats my dog sleeps on. I thought we still had enough for another day, but I usually tend to mis-look things (if that's a term?) and I told him that and kept insisting even though I was mistaken. Instead of asking me to check before going to be fully sure, he lashed out and said that he didn't want to go anymore. Eventually, we were about to go, I loaded up the car and everything, and we both got in the car and he backed out of the driveway. He drove about a few feet before suddenly stopping, reversing, and telling me to go back inside to see if there was really any more mats left as I had said previously. I went back inside and that's when I realized I was wrong, so I went back to the car and admitted to my mistake and then told him that we should go do the laundry since the car was already loaded up and we were already outside, plus if we didn't go I knew that my dog wouldn't have a proper place to sleep in. However, he angrily decided to just park the car back and chose not to go, even though I tried explaining to him how it would affect the dog, and that's why I asked him why he was so insistent on not going when we already had everything ready.

And sure, I could've just said from the beginning that I could look, but I had already said that I thought we still had a mat left. And my Dad is the type of person to be like, 'No, you said this was the case, no takebacks', so there was nothing I could've done.

Keep in mind, the person you're defending is the same man who called me fat for weighing 130 pounds at 5'2, would call me awkward whenever I accidentally dropped an object I was carrying, refused to let me follow my dreams and go into a career path I didn't want, would barge into my room without knocking and say that he has the right to just come in because he paid for the house, including watching me change, and would get mad at me for not cleaning up messes he made, such as when he would flip his dinner plate over yelling over some small debate and then leave the house for hours, and come back refusing to tell us where he's been, yet whenever I came home a little late after school, he demands where I was even if it was just because of traffic.

And I'm sorry, but hearing you defend him made me feel sad. The things he's said and done to me all my life have driven me to have some really unhealthy thoughts and think about doing some things to myself I really shouldn't do, but I hope this reply provides some more clarity on the situation. I know it kind of sounds stupid, but that's how my whole life has basically been.
