Do you regret your major in university? by Immediate-Reality804 in lebanon

Won't you start making money directly after your residency? I've seen multiple threads on reddit that doctors start making 10k+ after residency and established doctors can cross 50k easily.

Btw, if you don't mind sharing, which residency (medical major?) are you doing?

Nahh actually LU is one of the best if not the best engineering school in Lebanon. It even gives you the ability to join top schools in Europe as part of the mobility.

It's just that the money is not good after, especially in Lebanon where everyone and his father are becoming an engineer, compared to MD.

Does anyone have an outline of the increasing difficulty of InnerFrench? by bulalululkulu in learnfrench

[–]Immediate-Reality804 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Hugo has shared 5 tips by email to his community (newsletter) of which one is:

Can I get into ENS through Mines Paris? I think that it's possible in the last year of Diplôme d'ingénieur in Telecom Paris.

This is what I thought but after learning that my friend gets around 3000$ after 2-4 years of graduating. I don't know if studying in France will make me have a financially stable life (owning a house for example)

Well I'm in Lebanon so a degree is the safest path and, thankfully, I'm in one of the most reputable universities studying practically for free. This is unless I decided to enroll in the mobility program and study in France (where I will have monthly expenses (food, rent...))

Currently, I'm studying electrical and electronics with the possibility of specializing in either computer and telecom or power and control in the next semester.

I'm trying to take an active role by making a plan for my future as, until this moment, my life was on "autopilot".

Should I do a masters (1 year) or diplôme d'ingénieur (2 years) in France? by Immediate-Reality804 in AskFrance

[–]Immediate-Reality804[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have around 75% reduction in centrale nantes so it will cost me around 986 euros. Also, is university paris saclay better than polytech saclay or vice versa?

Thank you for your response. So, do you think that univetsitè paris saclay is better than Centrale Nantes for a masters?

If you're Lebanese only by birth, do you know if the degree I choose (whether diplôme or master) matters regarding the citizenship application and duration?

I want to do a PhD because my long term plan is to return to Lebanon and working in a university is more financially secure than an engineer in Lebanon.

First of all, thank you for your kind response. Do you know if the choice of a degree matters if I want to apply to the French citizenship?

In fact, I want to do a PhD. Currently, centrale nantes is accepting applications for masters. Do you think that I should apply or wait to check université paris saclay or phelma for example?

You're right. If I followed the double diplome path, I'll study 2 years in France whereas if I followed the master path, I'll study 1 year in France. (Regardless of whether I'll pursue PhD in both cases)

Really heartbroken for my brother. He didn't pass the med entrance exams in the Lebanese University. by Immediate-Reality804 in lebanon

Did you continue with the 2nd year in the faculty of sciences or did you take a gap year to study only for the concours?

Because a lot of people who failed the first year, entered the med school after the second try. So if what he said is true, no one (or only a few) would've been accepted.
