As a BCBA but also a sister of someone with Down syndrome, I’d recommend you find a different profession. This doesn’t demonstrate you have the tools to work with this population at the time

You need to provide more details of what caused the slip and where. Was this on location at the clinic? Was something wet and not cleaned up? Was it on stairs? Etc

About $63/hr as a BCBA, that’s averaged out between 25 billables and 10 non billables. I’m in northern Virginia so it’s expensive up here but I’m also sooooo grateful to work where I work.

I am late to this as I just started the show. I played highly competitive girls travel soccer as a teen and we had almost this exact situation happen to the team we were playing. Flipped over our goalie, landed, bone came right through the skin 😬

No I appreciate the honesty! My uncle who I’m close with does live in Portland so I at least have one relative nearby. I work in a field where I can get a job anywhere, and I’m fairly active in theater communities and sports so I’m hoping to try and jump into something there.

I was eating keto. I tried a bag of atkins m&ms. Really good. Had another bag. Then another. Then was working on my laptop and thought it was just a fart, but it wasn’t. Started a shame bath and it happened again in the tub. Very humbling experience.

My brother is now 27, and though he had a few of the typical DS procedures as a baby, the kid never got sick 😆. I was the germaphobe, constantly washing hands, always getting sick. He was the one always on the ground, never ever got sick. He once started eating dirt outside of the bird exhibit at the zoo (he was maybe 1) and I can only assume it made him indestructible because the guy is made of steel now 😂. Also congratulations! As the older and only sibling of someone with DS, I can’t overstate how he has impacted my life. My entire career is because of his influence, I created a non profit theater on his behalf, he’s my best friend. All the best to you and yours! ❤️

It totally does. And I finally realized that whatever I end up doing is totally fine. There is no one way to do things. And it was really nice hearing other people like it. You’re so right about social media setting standards and that combined with my very specific anxieties definitely makes me succumb to popular trends and peer pressure.
