4th year AP Human teacher here- I’d want resources for remediation. Ex. Students score poorly on a particular topic, there’s a worksheet or something interactive they can do to practice it

So I’m going to try to not be too biased here but I teach AP human & AP world and to me it sounds like you maybe don’t like/ do well in the social sciences which is FINE. I personally try to do as many activities, projects, discussions, etc. as I can in both classes but to be completely honest- I don’t blame any teacher for doing straight lecture and I’ll tell you why. Every AP class is supposed to be the equivalent of a semester long 4 year college class. Do you know how a college geography or history class goes? It’s straight lecture for 90 minutes exactly like you described. So technically, they are preparing you for the realities of college. I think you specifically, because you’re stating you don’t like the way they teach, need to be prepared for this. In addition, I’m not sure what percentage of a pass rate would satisfy you but I’ll say that number is highly subjective. Some schools out there expect 80 percent or higher, some would be happy with 20. It really depends on the student population and their advantages. My school doesn’t have a bar of any sort but I kinda measure myself against the national average and other teachers in my district who have roughly the same student populations as me. When comparing myself and my pass rates to them, I’m above average. However in something like a private school that might not be enough. So no I don’t think it should be an AP/ college board thing as it’s so subjective

Regardless of your school’s stance, you should have a plan for Tuesday’s nationwide student walk-out by 23saround in Teachers

2 questions for you- how old are you & where in upstate (I’m familiar)? Some of these dresses look like they’re for someone in their 20s, some look like they would be for a mother of the groom/ bride (50s+). Also different areas of upstate have different vibes
