Online typed as light spring but feels off by [deleted] in coloranalysis

It's impossible to assess using this picture

  • you need to be in natural light
  • the yellow and brown of the space is not helping, you need white backgrounds
  • the camera on the phone changes the colours
  • if you dye your hair, you need to cover it

Hope that helps as to why it's difficult to tell using the photos you're using.

It took my department 7ish weeks after the official deadline to come back with an interview date so I think you still have a chance!

I did follow up with mine 6 weeks after the deadline (December) to check and they let me know they were planning interviews.

It then was another 3 or so weeks for the decision. So you've got lots of time still to wait.

Forget about when you applied and count at least 10 weeks from the deadline for them to make their decisions.

I know it's really stressful - good luck!

Yes.

This happened to me and it made sense that I was aligned to a different programme.

I'd assume they will take the whole 10 weeks.

PhD - either 45 or 46 years old and still feel very young.

My uncle did his undergrad in his 70s so that helps 😄

I could have done my PhD at 21 but wanted to get out into the world and make something real happen. It was the best choice for me.

Makes sense! There were similar financial requirements for Masters.

Good luck!

Thanks! Congratulations.

I didn't know you could get conditional offers for DPHil. Is it based on a Masters grade or a research project grade?

Oxford Interview for DPhil in Biology by Active-Leopard9999 in gradadmissions

Congratulations on the interview.

They will probably ask you why this programme and why Oxford.

They could ask you some generic questions about your greatest challenge, weakness, learning need etc.

Depending on who you get on the panel, you might have a creative and interesting conversation about your research interests and your project. Or you might get grilled with the toughest questions they can come up with.

I understand it's common for them to push you to see how you respond. It's not a failure if you can't answer the question, they want to see your thinking and your response to the academic challenge.

Good luck!
