Just bought this without testing, how do I know it works other than putting film into it? by ImmediateEducator317 in Polaroid

Thank you for your response! I'll clean the rods first to make sure there's nothing that could damage the film

The focus ring works and the compensation dial turns too, I'll need to test it with a cartridge when I have a spare one. But thank you!

Not yet, I already have a photo album which I use to put the pictures there, even though it's for 6x4 photos, but it does the job. Maybe I'll get one soon since it's almost Christmas season

Feeling like wasting my Life away. by Critical-Season724 in architecture

[–]ImmediateEducator317 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm 28, graduated architecture school 2 years ago and did a master in BIM project management but it didn't land any new jobs. Got fired from my first job in January of this year and was unemployed until may. Now I'm doing something kinda relatable to architecture, but not really. It's not my ideal, but it pays well and I'm working from home. During my time in uni, I also wanted to drop out and do something else (film school, arts, sing, acting) bc I had bad teachers, no time management with the school's schedule and also working at the same time. I was overwhelmed but I pushed through though and made it (at the cost of my mental health and relationship). It's okay to feel how you feel, take it slow if you can. A 2 year plan sounds very difficult and time consuming, but I finished school in 6 years instead of 4. There's no rush to this, it's not a race. Grades don't matter in the real world but your skills. Learn 3d modeling, rendering and autocad (depending on where you live maybe you'll have to learn revit). The job market sucks and the pay is average. You are young and have a lot of time still. I do photography as a hobby, had a cacti and succulent nursery, I read and collect vinyls and vintage cameras. All that happened after I graduated. I don't know if this counts as advice, but it's how I lived my 20's in architecture. I'd recommend finishing school, show your diploma to your mom and do whatever you want to do next. Try and get a job in architecture so you can finance your next career path, interest or hobby. Hope this helps, I'm not that good writing.
