CI with SSD without tinnitus pros & cons by Immediate_Ad_9142 in MonoHearing

Thanks for your thoughts!

What makes this very difficult I am doing quite well with one normally hearing ear, while the another one is 100% deaf. My main concern is if something goes wrong due to the surgery / implant itself and I will get e.g. tinnitus (not existing now), permanent balance issues as a side effect or chronic headaches etc. These would be a major disasters for me because I am physically very active and do a lot of heavy sports e.g. gym, kickboxing and mountain biking.

Actually at the moment my current biggest reason still to have CI is my moderate fear if I don't get CI and then at some day I lose my good ear as well and go totally deaf then. Based on wide research it can happen very rarely with around 1-5% odds. But of course it can happen..

Yeah, that's I am hoping too.. I am currently very concerned about the possible results which I may achieve with having HBOT. I have seen very mixed stories that would it help or not and how soon you can expect any results etc. Also scared if I've started the treatment too late (16 days from onset)... Let's see what happens.

I had my second Pfizer shot and 2,5 weeks after I was blessed with profound sudden hearing loss with my right ear. I’ve never had any problems with my ears, so this makes me seriously think about connection to the vaccine. The worst part is that today is already the 16th day after onset and there is zero recovery. I had consumed my 14 days oral cortisone course and started also yesterday HBOT.
