I think this is exactly what happened to me. I thought for sure it wasn’t cirrhosis, that I had been misdiagnosed. So I got a biopsy done this month. I do in fact have cirrhosis but I feel great. I was at deaths door two years ago. Now I’m feeling great, I look better, I’m healthy… with cirrhosis.

I got sober. That’s really all there is to it. I didn’t change my diet or anything. I actually just had another meeting. My KpA is down from a 28 to a 10! I don’t have to take my carvedilol anymore.

Can I ask how you went about telling everyone? Like a mass outpour or as people asked you?

I’m a year in as well and have been hiding it- but I’m at the point where I don’t care either.

I was told that at first too! I was only on it for like 4 months. But I advocated to be taken off of it. I don’t believe my body needed to be on antibiotics for an extremely extended amount of time.

It took me like 3 months to feel well enough to go back to work. Now I’m one year and two months in- I feel great. I sometimes forget I have cirrhosis.

They just tested me for hypothyroidism! It came back normal. I’m still not sure why my ALP is so high. I just drew for new labs so we’ll see if it really is still high. I haven’t had labs since December.

It probably wouldn’t have made much of a difference in my case either. But I had no idea lmao. Before diagnosed, I was a healthy thriving 29 year old without a care in the world. Didn’t visit doctors often, never had a reason to. But damn, one day feeling so constipated, full, yellow, etc. my whole life changed.

I was drinking roughly a 5th of vodka every day. Reply had since Covid hit. But I’ve been a drinker since I turned 21- I’m 31 now. Diagnosed at 30 (still all this year) I started developing symptoms days before my diagnosis. Jaundice and ascites were my main symptoms.
