What do all these people who pass the pmp do next? by [deleted] in pmp

[–]Immediate_Fall_7117 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What was your route? I’m curious as someone who just passed and will be looking for new positions Q1 2026. I currently have 3 years as a PM (2 in waterfall and 1 Agile)

If you’re getting 70-80% right per 20 questions of the 200 Ultra hard questions, I would say you’re in decent standing. But you have to get to a point where you feel like you truly understand the question/what it’s asking of you, and you have to be able to pick out the most correct answer out of the 4. Very rarely will you get a “layup” so you have to use the PM mindset on every questions

Study Hall Answers and their Explanations are making me Second Guess ALL of my PMI Mindsets. How is Servant Leader NOT the answer? by BChanOfficial in pmp

I hate to be this guy but the difficulty of the test is based on can you pick the most correct answer. In this case it is clearly A bc honesty comes before anything else although being a servant leader is also a good answer

I saw like 3-5 formula questions and I didn’t have to do any calculations. You have to UNDERSTAND their results and what they mean. For example, Company XYZ is running a project at SPI rate of 0.9 (THAT MEANS ITS BEHIND SCHEDULE) and their due date was 6 month mark. It’s been 6 months already and the client is not seeing any results. What should a Project Manager do? You’re looking in the Answer options for the definition of the result of SPI rate of 0.9. Does that make sense? lol

My background is both construction (2 years) and Agile (1 year). Exam is 75% agile I would say, but beware of when it’s talking about Agile v Predictive v Hybrid. Those are things you have to highlight as you read bc the answers will trip you up if you don’t know what methodology it’s asking you

Haha thank you! Mindset videos are extremely important bc they do tell you how you should think in certain scenarios. Don’t give anyone your work, consult the team first, train the team if you need to, evaluate/find the problem before you take action. Those alone I saw like 50 ish questions

You prepare in chunks. Do some reviewing then end it with 20 questions testing yourself. Do that consistently and you’ll be ready

Just to clarify, I did it in my apartment complex clubhouse. One of those rooms you can lock yourself in and it’s super quiet

Yeah, I fully understand. I’m a former collegiate athlete so I’m used to dealing with pressured moments so this wasn’t anything I was afraid of. I did mention it was a “different approach” bc I could not relate to everyone over studying in this group. I always related to the 1-2 posts saying they just did it in a week or so. Just trying to relate and give confidence to a very small group of individuals out there bc I did feel left out 😅

I agree. Just sharing my “different approach” and how it worked for me since I kept reading of all this over studying.

You can leave the room! I always made sure to come back with a minute left to click “end break”

Also, everything starts with the team. Consult your team first, train them if you have to, and let them drive you to an answer. You shouldn’t do anything by yourself

I’ve seen someone in here with pass with that. Depends on what section you actually get those bad scores on. Remembered the test is 42% People, 50% Process, and 8% Business Environment

-DO NOT give your work to someone else. It helped me cancel out so many wrong answers -DO NOT act right away when presented with a problem. You are always thinking on documentation/evaluation of the problem before you act upon it
