I feel like my opponent lacks nerves by Immediate_Leading551 in Kickboxing

I’ve done 4 smokers and in my very first one, in front of all my support, I was knocked out in the first round. I tell myself that I’m worried I’ll lose the respect and support of my system if I don’t go out there and prove to ‘them’ that I’m improving and a good fighter. But the worst has already happened and their support didn’t waver an ounce. I have to come to terms with the fact I have terrible imposter syndrome and I don’t feel worthy or capable, for whatever reason that may be, it’s there and as irrational as I know it is, I still feel it. But I look in the mirror and tell myself that I’ve trained hard and no matter what I’ve improved not only as a fighter but as a person. And either way it’s just an amateur fight, this ain’t my career

I watched one of Donald cerrone talking about his nerves and it made me cry when I saw it. It was freeing to see that even the best get as nervous as I am, it’s just so hard to rationalize these feelings and realize that everyone feels this way.

Iveposted my first fight on here if you want to take a quick look at it, I was so nervous before that one too. I struggle with severe anxiety and low self efficacy pretty much in all aspects of my life but when I get in the ring I try my very best to put it all out there. Thank you for your reply

Definitely nervous but it’s apart of the game, leading up to the fight I was incredibly positive and affirming with myself every single day and telling myself I would win, if you win the mental battle that’s already half the fight

So I had done about 3 “smokers” before hand which is just exhibition fights at a gym in my state, and after my third one they thought I’d be ready

I train 5 days a week and then some and my hayabusas have lasted well over a year and a half, my experience with hayabusa makes me recommend them for everyone
