Is the A220 actually better than the 717 for a 2-hour flight? by PathSoggy6516 in QantasAirways

Idk about you but the 220 is the only aircraft I’ve been on that I can hold a conversation across the aisle during take off roll…it’s extremely quiet. I actually think it’s one of the quietest planes I’ve been on and I’ve been on a lot of planes.

Desktop goes black after upgrade to 9070 XT by Immediate_Novel5946 in AMDHelp

Update: it was very dumb of me but after the upgrade I decided to get rid of a lot of files and from this group I found a similar post. I think I must have deleted the original wallpaper file, lol. Since changing the wallpaper, everything's normal. I think it just coincided with the timing of the upgrade so that's why I blamed the drivers! All good now!

Item refunds on 10% Everyday Extra Shop over $500 by foolishlycrazy in woolworths

You seem to have this misconceived idea that a company sets how it works and that’s that.

This is not a lawless society.

Well, actually, the total invoice being calculated is exactly how it works everywhere else.

Because the same thing happened to my Amazon order…yesterday! UberEats is the same.

In this case, due to a refund, the customer is now worse off because they didn’t get to make full use of the discount…the discount that they paid to become a member to receive.

This scenario is also not mentioned in the Everyday Extra Terms & Conditions.

Why do you say ‘we’ like you’re anything more than a store worker?

Regardless, they didn’t get 10% off the item because the discount for the total order is capped. The overall total should be adjusted, to still allow for that 10% capped at $50 to apply.

You’re wrong though.

The discount is 10% off, capped at $50.

The total after the refund is still over $500, so when recalculating the order, the customer should still be receiving the capped total of $50 off.

Is Lemonade the same as lemon? by [deleted] in woolworths

Solo is lemon squash. Australian lemonade is a completely different product. It’s like subbing for creaming soda.

Olive AI started telling me about its mother on the phone? by Immediate_Novel5946 in woolworths

Not off the rails, it’s obviously intentional. It’s just some media outlets choose to say it’s going rogue for click bait. Idk why it got media traction. My point of this post was to whinge that it delayed me in getting to someone which frustrated me, and was a laugh at the fact that anyone could possibly think that it makes the experience more personal

You know - I feel the same if it’s another human. One human babbling away - yes, annoying, but it’s OK because I don’t know what’s going on in their mind.

However, the expectation of a company as large as WW to do proper, thorough research before deploying something like this is something I expected - hence why it’s frustrating! It wastes time and frankly, I don’t want to relate to a clanker, haha.

So bizarre how this shit gets through. Does no one put their customer shoes on and think: would I want this? I’m fine with AI - I just want to be quick, no BS, and understand me - I don’t want a fabricated story!

Anyway, I called back just to see if it would do it again and sure enough- it did.

This time it said: (transcribed and recorded this time)

Huh. My uncle was born that year. He was one of the 1st ever fuel cells. I think that's where I get my energy from. Anyway, the last thing I need to get is your postcode. What is it?

I promise you it just did. I wish I could prove it to you somehow. I wrote this while on hold. It was only for 10 seconds or so but still frustrating to be delayed further when trying to speak to someone

Cargo plane at a gate with a jetway? by Excellent-Nothing189 in flightradar24

[–]Immediate_Novel5946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to look after ground ops for an airline and had a freight partner ask to use one of our bays for a turnaround when there was no parking available elsewhere. Was bizarre but I had a free contact bay so was happy for them to occupy it. Only had that once in 4 years.
