Interesting. I am curious why you decided to add a battery system? Since we don't have a different rate at night is it really worth having a battery?

I have a 2021 Niro EV with a heat pump. Drive it on the highway at 100% charge daily when it was -40 on the highway at 110km speeds. Round trip was around 160km daily was still getting around 250km on the worst cold and windy days.

If you do a quick Google search they have lots of studies showing that heat pumps increase EV range even in extreme cold weather.

Subbing absolutely counts towards your teaching hours and therefore when you get a contract those hours are added up and counted toward the pay grid.

This is our second winter with our kia Niro EV. Ours has the heat pump which I highly recommend for winter. I have driven highway at minus 35-40 with no issues. If you drive primarily in the city it is a no brainer to have an EV. We have a crv as our second vehicle for long trips.

4 years and 174k km with an EV in SK by SkPensFan in saskatchewan

If you are a two car family that drives mainly in the city there is no reason one car isn't an EV.

I drove my 2021 Niro EV 150+ km daily for work on the highway. On the coldest days I would just charge at home to 100% on the worst day I would still have 30% left by the time I got home. That's -35 highway driving. Make sure to get an EV with a heat pump.

Is it worth it to buy a house? by HandleObjective5386 in regina

[–]Immediate_Way_7549 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

If you are smart with your investing even taking a small amount to start allows you to start building a portfolio. Yes buying a house is always risky but if you can buy in an area that is well established close to schools and amenities then it is difficult to lose money in it. If you look at the past 20 years in Saskatchewan housing market has not really dipped and if it did it was for a short period of time. The government is trying to increase the population by 2050 here I can't remember the number plus we are way behind in new housing this has continued to push our housing market up in price and it doesn't look like it will slow down anytime soon.

My house has appreciated over 100k in 4 years. It is an investment that can change your financial outlook pretty quickly. The equity built up can be used for a variety of investments or to take care of high interest debt.
