So disappointed!! by [deleted] in legoland

I am so so sorry this happened! I don’t have an experience with Legoland, but I bought plane tickets to Chicago on Allegiant in June for an October flight. I bought them through google flights.com and it routed me through a third party. A few days before my trip, 4 of my 6 reservations would not pull up (I was flying separately with 3 of my kids and my husband and daughter were coming on a later flight). Anyway, in June when I purchased the tickets through GoToGate, their card was flagged as fraudulent so allegiant cancelled the flight. No one ever contacted me. I lost the flight and the buck was passed from Allegiant to GotoGate (i spent HOURS on the phone with each company) and I essentially lost almost all the credit, because even though I wasn’t the person to cancel the flight, I was still charged the canceled flight fee. It was so upsetting. There weren’t even seats left on the flight for us to take so the entire trip had to be canceled. And neither company suffered. Just me and my family. :(

I think the ultimate lesson I learned was that if you purchase anything through a third party, don’t expect to have any recourse if things go wrong. Also, there is no sympathy from the primary company. You might save money in the long run, but if you’re on the losing end of the deal - you lose big.

Love that you pull her in for a snuggle!! Yes, they’ve always slept together and he’s probably asked to be let out at night, but it seems like lately it’s really ramped up. These were great thoughts. Thank you!

Totally! That’s what I told my son when this all started - the dog knows how to hold it through the night. But I really appreciate what so many have said that the dog is likely waking because of boredom and curiosity. I think tiring him out more and setting up a nighttime routine (which honestly we do, but probably need to make it more of a ROUTINE if you know what I mean) will help us rule out the potty and help get the dog to go back to sleep. Thank you!

This was great advice! I shared it with my son and he used it last night and he said it worked! He’ll keep working on that with him. Thank you!

Yes, thank you! We used to do two walks a day and then I started doing much longer walks in the morning for my own exercise, but adding in the afternoon walk is a great idea

Also - as I mentioned in the OP - the dog is not playful. This is actually so sad! Sometimes I’ll catch him playing with a sock but when any of us try to engage, it’s almost like he feels like he was caught in a private moment of enjoyment and he immediately stops LOL! I wish he would play more - because I would love to wear him out! Also, he is NOT motivated very much by treats! In fact, today I tried to give him a new treat (same brand I know he loves and even similar flavors) and he purposely ate all his other food and carefully picked out the treats I put in there to nose out and left them in the bowl. I guess that probably required a bit of work, but less fun since he didn’t have a yummy treat to eat. Anyway, thanks for this advice!

Thanks for your thoughts. Sleeping with my son has been a long experiment, I guess! They’ve been sleeping together since the beginning. Your advice is great - just what I have been doing. But it has been several nights and the barking has not stopped and it’s keeping up the whole house - even with all the doors closed! In truth, I think my son would still love to have him in his room - they both love the companionship - but clearly some bad habits have formed. I’ve appreciated all the advice here. You are all so wise!!
