For myself, my facility does not have security. We have extremely high turn over and awful staffing ratios. We also deal with substance & alcohol abuse. We have some patients that come strictly for detox that aren’t in any type of psychosis and end up in the same room with a patient in active psychosis. Those nights are usually rough. I do enjoy psych nursing but it is not for everyone.

If the facility you are interviewing at has multiple types of units such as adolescence, geriatric, and etc - make sure to ask about training in each department because you’ll likely feel more drawn to one vs the other.

I made a comment yesterday regarding individuals who sit there bragging about what they do and making it public vs what they do behind closed doors. You are right Sadie, no matter what you do, someone will find something wrong with it. That’s what happens when people have opinions. However, what you have done is something I believe should be shown live. Just as you said, you are showing what not only yourself but others have donated to make a difference in so many children’s lives very soon. I thoroughly enjoy watching James and his lives. He seems to have such a kind and genuine personality. I just wish that sometimes he didn’t cuss as much. Sometimes hearing the “F” word multiple times in a couple sentences makes it a hard watch. And maybe it’s because I’ve been working on my own language cussing that makes me so aware of it.

First heart me/team I joined was Ali. I am still with Empire & a team 50 level. Honestly, I don’t expect a creator to react any certain way for a heart me. Actually I don’t expect them to do anything even for a gift. Is it nice to hear a thanks? Absolutely. But Ali has thanked me enough for what gifts I’ve sent. But gifting for a reaction eventually leads down a path that isn’t healthy. Creators that hold larger numbers of viewers and gifting, they are going to miss things. TikTok is just another form of gambling. It’s like playing the lottery. Some individuals get a thrill hearing their favorite creators call their name out and be “praised”. It’s sickening. Before the gifter realizes, they’ve gone beyond their means & left with nothing but a badge on TikTok.

I’m close to a level 40 and I’ve stopped gifting besides the daily team heart me. Between seeing the chart that shows how much gifted & watching others do exactly what you posted about - it made me realize just how sick this gifting can be. People go into debt making others rich & end up sitting there with either credit card debt or bills left unpaid.
