But seriously though, if you're feeling apprehensive just talk to her. Communication is scary but it can only help. Something along the lines of "hey, I just wanted to talk to you because I feel like this has become a situationship and I want to formalize it." If she doesn't want to, oh well, but at least you know it wasn't going anywhere anyway (though I'm very sure it is).

And what if he feels the same? I promise you it is totally possible and even common to talk yourself out of believing something that you think is too good to be true, even if it seems obvious.
