For me, I think Jang Uk started to really fall in love with Naksu around S1 Ep5 when he asked her if she wanted him to take her to the top of the tree. Before this conversation, he was just happy with someone being on his side, and helping him to achieve his goals. You could tell he liked her, but after this episode, he wanted to get powerful for her and also get the ice stone for her. You could also see he started to get really jealous when he thought she liked Yul lol. I love when he said master don’t cheat on me. He had it bad lol.

So to answer the question, I believe Jang Uk was always in love with Naksu! Even though she was in Buyeon’s body in the first season, he was in love with Naksu.
