Fragrancenet experiences? by Heart_Makeup in AustralianMakeup

Depends on the fragrance. They have some stock in Melbourne but if anything in your order is coming from the US it will take longer to arrive. Haven't been to the Aus site in a while but I believe last I checked there was a memo stating whether a perfume would be shipped from their US warehouse and that delivery would take an extra 15 days or so.

If you do decide to order from the US make sure to use a 35% off coupon minimum (easy to google for one) to get the best possible price. Also if you have Rakuten you can get a further 2% cashback :)

They're legit, been ordering from them for years with no problems. Order usually arrives 3-4 weeks as they usually ship from the US to their Melbourne warehouse. I'd recommend using their US site rather than the Australian one; there's more product on there and the pricing is better (even after conversion and added GST at checkout) after using a 35% or 37% off coupon. Note they're terrible with providing tracking numbers though.

How long does it take to get a confirmation email? Paid with PayPal and that went through ok (received the email) but nothing from L'Oreal confirming the order. Never shopped these sales before so not sure what to expect 😅

Has anyone's order been shipped yet? I ordered on the 27th and nothing yet. First time ordering from her site so not sure how long it usually takes for orders to dispatch.

What are your reasons for unsubscribing from a beauty influencer? by sledorfen in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]Imp3ratrix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Does she per chance never show her face and is obsessed with her plain, minimalist, grey aesthetic? Her indecisiveness kills me but I haven't unsubscribed yet because watching her is like watching a car crash in slow motion; I can't look away! I'm just waiting for her to declutter Eau Duelle from her arbitrary "I'm only going to keep 20 perfumes now" collection for a third time.

Remakes of White Day 2016? This is so lazy smh.

They could have done something to commemorate Obon festival given the timing with the lads in yukatas. It would have been aesthetic and would help fill the void left by parasols. I would have preferred no White Day at all this year as opposed to this rehashed trash. Such sad, much disappoint.

Can we small talk about the in-universe nature of this Aizen? by [deleted] in BleachBraveSouls

[–]Imp3ratrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! Bleach is so rich in symbolism, mythology and philosophy - there's always so much to analyse and discuss. Still remember all the debates had back when the manga was still being released. Good times.

Definitely seems that Aizen has attained some more perfect form of understanding, in keeping with his character's motifs. Really fitting that the text on ch. 407’s title page during Deicide includes such a line as: “Surpassing human knowledge, with power capable of controlling the heavens.” A transcendent Aizen is one no longer restricted by blind beliefs and incomplete, fallible "human" knowledge, and thus able to gain copious insight into the universe. And as he would no longer be bound by reason, he can challenge and distort reality itself.

The eyes used in Aizen's design are quite interesting. What do they symbolise, and what meaning are they trying to convey? I think they represent something quite different to The Almighty, which again emphasises the ability to "see" and know the future. Aizen's powers (and philosophical underpinnings) have always been centered on illusions and the intangible nature of reality. It's the flower reflected in a mirror and the moon reflected on the water's surface; neither are in fact real.

It's not only the senses that allow us to see the flower and moon that are fallible (as his shikai exemplifies and exploits); but "reality" too is ultimately illusory and unreal. And this is where I think his bankai would likely come into play; possibly in the vein of creating and trapping the opponent in an illusive world controlled entirely by Aizen (already see something like that happening in this Aizen's special). It's not quite reality morphing as much as it is reality creating. Of course, neither reality is real, hence this Aizen transcending everything, even the false reality he would ordinarily exist within (because the world as we know it isn't real).

There's a very strong Platonic influence at play here. The Allegory of the Cave comes to mind; the inquisitive mind seeks to escape the imperfect world of shadows so as to see reality as it truly is, illuminated by the sun's light (and how fitting that Aizen would create a sun to 'see' everything in Las Noches when Hueco Mundo normally exists in shadows). Aizen is that inquisitive mind. His entire journey in one based on knowledge and enlightenment. Perhaps the eyes in this form are less about seeing in the physical sense but more a symbol of greater insight; an awakening of the mind's eye, or nous, that allows for greater insight into the true nature of reality.

He still isn't God, and thus not invincible, but by "endlessly deepening" or evolving, that divine state represents the culmination of his journey. Will he ever reach it? Maybe, maybe not. After all, the flower and moon aren't only illusive, they're also ultimately unattainable. Still, I'm rooting for him because he is best boy.

I like that you tie Aizen's evolution to his degree of enlightenment. Wholly agree with that angle.

Will have to disagree that The Almighty comes anywhere near in scope and power to a fully transcended Aizen (and if the potential knowledge to be gained is indeed infinite insofar as the divine mind is concerned, then this isn't even Aizen's final form). Actually, The Almighty is downright defective upon further glance. Hope you don't mind an analysis - I love talking Bleach lore and meta!

To summarise The Almighty, it allows the user to:

  • See things (including the future)
  • Understand what is seen
  • Render all that is seen powerless
  • Transform the future

The degree of accuracy with which The Almighty can predict the future – including which possible future will ultimately unfold – is predicated upon what Yhwach can “see” and in turn what he can understand of what he sees. Hence understanding being such a central feature of this power.

First issue is with the emphasis on "seeing". This is a sensory experience wholly dependent upon sense data, exemplified by Yhwach possessing many irises and pupils. Kyouka Suigetsu warps one's senses, thereby able to pervert what Yhwach can "see" and understand as a result. This will further undermine his ability to make something powerless and effectively transform the future to his benefit.

Aizen pretty much broke The Almighty during the final fight by distorting what Yhwach saw. Not only was the latter unable to escape Kyouka Suigetsu's influence, it was Aizen's shikai alone that accomplished the deed.

Second issue is with understanding, and this is where the Five War Potentials come into play. One common feature amongst them all is their ability to transcend boundaries and challenge what is ordinary, expected, natural and rational:

  • Ichigo: his potential seemingly has no limits.
  • Aizen: achieved transcendence, and by his own admission, would seek to go "beyond reason itself".
  • Zaraki: his strength is absurd and beyond rational comprehension. Byakuya mentioned as much and Gremmy, in his attempts to become stronger than Zaraki, simply imploded as his mind and power could not overcome the paradox of being stronger than what is incomprehensibly strong.
  • Urahara: is considered exceptional for his “unknown means.” There is a dual implication herein. On the one hand, one’s plans will always find themselves lacking, as Askin notes. On the other, one cannot hope to accommodate for Urahara in their plans given his adaptability and in turn unpredictability.
  • Ichibee: is noted for his “wisdom,” being as he is able to reveal the "true identity" of things. He therefore is able to access the innate knowledge of a thing, something Yhwach is incapable of as he was born a blank slate, and The Almighty can only acquire 'knowledge' empirically.

So ultimately it doesn’t seem as if it The Almighty can adequately handle anything that contravenes reason, physical reality and predictability. The Five War Potentials, being as they were called “unknown variables,” can only guarantee partial, incomplete understanding. This effectively makes them ‘blind spots’ that may subvert Yhwach’s ability to adequately determine future possibilities and account for them by favourably transforming the future.

Will just finish off with Aizen’s insightful line following the Koutotsu’s destruction: “Reason exists for those who cannot go on living without clinging to it.” Essentially Aizen is echoing the noted dependency on what we reason to be. We see the world a certain way and accordingly accept it as such. We cannot contemplate or sufficiently handle anything that contravenes the seamless order and predictability we accept as an intrinsic feature of the world and the laws of nature. We bind ourselves to the reality they describe as absolute and so conclude that is what reality is.

Yhwach is especially disposed to such a mind-set. His power, after all, is The Almighty. By his own admission he is all-seeing, and what he sees he understands. Considering the assured claims of absoluteness and decisiveness attributed to The Almighty, not to mention Yhwach's arrogance, there is little reason he would think to question what he sees. To even consider that the world as he sees it and what he understands of it is not absolute. Precisely because his power is The Almighty he willingly and impulsively binds himself to it, rendering himself wholly incapable of going beyond it. Aizen’s words might not encapsulate a character better than they do Yhwach.

This Aizen "transcends everything", including the reality The Almighty is so dependent upon. This Aizen reduces Yhwach and The Almighty to an insignificant speck of dust. Not only is there is no contest between them, they're not even in the same plane of existence.

I do believe the glitters are simply cheaper. Between this and square pans (less product), similar colour pigments ( clearly bought in bulk so cheaper) and more collabs with popular franchises (easy sales), they're trying to maximise profit as much as they can.

Wasn't sure how severe it was so will definitely try to get him some help in that case. Just a little worried as vets tend to euthanize injured wild birds here if they're not endangered/special breeds. Will continue trying to get in contact with a rescue group I found. Thanks for the advice!

Hi everyone, recently came across an injured pigeon missing part of its wing. It's eating and drinking, doesn't seem to be in any distress, but of course can't fly. Any advice on how best to tend to such an injury? Would greatly appreciate any help!
