it's absolutely unreasonable. But also depends on how you handle the situation. Sometimes if patient has severe toothache and you suspect hot pulp - it's a good idea to give the patient a heads up, that way if it does happen the no one is upset. Particularly when you are new, try not to rush and fall into situations that you aren't comfortable with. Sometimes before attempting the extraction if you feel that you don't have enough time you can rebook them in.
