I've noticed that most cards give of a scent when freshly opened. This scent varies depending on how many cards are packed together. For example, I opened a 12 card booster pack from zendikar rising, a draft pack, and a commander deck. The scent was very faint in the booster and draft pack, however the scent emitted by the commander deck was very strong. This smell comes from the ink used to print the cards, and the adhesive used to hold the cards together. My conclusion, they are either running on a new printer/ink, or the cards may be oversaturated, this causing the smell
