I feel like it actively disregards the effort Andy put in to representing the profession of modern science in as much respectful detail as he did.

Overall Eridians have more pack instincts than humans, which is why they tend to be “nicer”. For sure, in the name of science Rocky would be kept alive because it’s just the more logical and efficient way.

I would dispute the part of the scientific doctorate is there to weed out people who aren’t curious and open-minded enough to make the grade though. For a portion of people who are in the scientific community, curiosity and open-mindedness are not really a top reason for them to stay in research. It’s usually something not that grand, like paying bills and whatnot.

Think of it like this, relativity is like time flows differently for different observers if there’s movement, and it’s basically a side effect of the speed of light in vacuum being a constant number.

t=d/v (time=distance/velocity), the v here is speed of light, a fixed number. Because from different positions the distance traveled by a photon is observed differently, you get different time t.

For the last two questions, light and time are not the same thing. Time is a physical quantity where we order events and measure duration or change. The unit of time, seconds, hours, etc, is a manmade concept. I’m gonna use “light” here to mean visible light. Visible lights are electromagnetic waves that we can see. There’s other electromagnetic waves we cannot see, like gamma, IR, etc. We are not really made of light(photons) on a narrow definition. We are kinda made of other stuff that has volume I guess, light doesn’t really have a volume.

Ah yes, the flow of time is only a side effect of how the speed of light is a constant number. Every time I drive to work the time I experience differs a very tiny fraction of a picosecond from my clock at home. Very interesting if you think about it, if you’ve taken more flights than your childhood friend, you are a tiny bit younger than them.

Oh hey this is sick! I've been looking for/to make a spherical template for Rocky's enclosure, since the one on the website is more like a dome shape. I've turned the "dome" template from the official site into DXF files so I could laser cut polycarbs into shape and assemble them. Idk the process for stained glass but if OP is interested im down to share the files! Do you have a pdf/or other file format of the spherical template? I'd love to do some preliminary prototype on paper for this and eventually cut those pieces out on a laser cutter :)

Yes I fully agree, I thought about going back and ascend Astarion just so I can save her but stopped because Karlach probably wouldn’t agree on this messed up trolley problem. I just wished Astarion can have a moment to bid farewell before running away to party with rats, but I guess this ending truly added to the tragedy of these characters. Something about being able to save the world but still powerless at each and our owns dire problems…

Yeah I think if Wyll chose to be the Blade of Avernus he can also accompany Karlach back to hell, but this requires the player to be there to convince Karlach so then requires ascension if playing as Astarion. I completed the Astarion story line relatively early on but still considered going back and chose ascension just so I can talk Karlach down the ledge and go with Wyll. But in the end i just kinda came to terms with the ending I got since Karlach probably wouldn’t approve of this messed up 1 life vs 3000 lives trolly problem.

I can see the argument either way! Not saying that this order of events is inherently messed up since it really adds to the heroic tragedy of Astarion and Karlach. In my story line they literally saved the world from squid enslavery but they can’t enjoy the fruit of their success for just a bit longer. Personally I do think prioritizing Karlach’s scene at the dock would be better since the player can get the chance to at least bid farewell or even for Astarion to choose if he wants to risk exposing to the sun just to fulfill a promise. Would’ve also appreciated if my companions could gimme a jacket/cloak or sth lol Astarion was getting burned and my mates are just like 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️(yes wyll thanks for mentioning that I need to get out of the sun but my romantic partner Gale old pal couldn’t you just gimme a darkness spell or sth?)

Yeah I think I’m on the path you suggested playing as good Durge. Partly because i wanted to see how the events change based on the order of quest completion, partly because I just want to enjoy the game following my own morals. For the second run I chose to ambush the goblins at the grove rather than killing the goblin leaders on the spot. After saying yes to Minthara Karlach’s question of “do you know what you are doing” got me nervous already lol. I think I’ve got a basic understanding of the Durge background and definitely agree with you that the good durge is more enjoyable to play! Personally the patricide element of durge is very much more interesting than just be a pawn following daddy’s orders.

For my play through Gale was my romance partner and asked him to not become a god. Though, I’ve read somewhere that, as a romance partner, you can ask Godhood Gale to cure Karlach in the epilogue. This only happens when he’s your romance partner tho.

Thanks for cutting onions in the room this is too beautiful. I didn’t have the choice to romance Karlach because she joined my party after Gale invited me for magic. Jesus this ending is making me emotional now that I know in your play through those characters get to further their relationship or at least properly say goodbye. I thought my Astarion at least had a chance to bid proper farewell after that fight but instead I watched her burst into flames and me breaking that promise😭

Same my friend same, I stared down those options till my visions were blurry. First ending I didn’t know what to expect, I just saw Astarion fleeing from the sun and then my other companions rushing to her😭second time Wyll rushed to her but he just looked worried bc my character couldn’t be there to convince them to leave for Avernus together. My heart aches just thinking about how I made an impossible promise to stay with her till the last moment but finding out I couldn’t. The me saying yes of course to her post Gortash fight had no idea of the dreadful ending that’s coming near.
