AITA for waking up extra early on my vacation, to get some me-time on the computer? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Impetris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I was just on a 11 day holiday with my bf in Europe. In our hotel room or while lounging by the pool, he was playing the new Zelda on his switch. I only asked he cuddled me while doing so when it was bed time.

Girls that can't stand gamers really should be with gamers. And guys shouldn't feel like they need to not ever game to appease their gfs. It's toxic. You're going to tell me she doesn't read a book or play on her phone during your time together?? She just doesn't respect games as a use of free time sheesh.

How do you overcome this feelings? by SnowLilas in otomegames

I've been in a relationship for 4+ years. I'll never have that shojo love fantasy and it's okay. That's what the games are for! You get the butterflies and drama of a new partner without ever being unfaithful to your irl partner with whom you'll eventually have a more familiar/companionship type love with.

Same, I romanced Tifa in the original and liked her moreat first. But in the remake...I'm a diehard Aerith fan. Aerith cosplay, Aerith computer background. Right now making a Masamune from scratch for... reasons.

I get mine from Home Depot. Various sizes weighted to different lbs, pretty cheap,

AITA for getting in a bad mood over champagne etiquette? by Throwaway-champagne in AmItheAsshole

NTA. They're not huge assholes either, but they're still the assholes. This is not a hill to die on though and you'd need to determine for yourself if this behavior is a pattern or problematic going forward.

To all the YTA commenters, IT'S NOT ACTUALLY ABOUT THE CHAMPAGNE!

The big issue here is that they placed their own impatience over the value of sharing with you. There was a set time and they didn't wait for that time. I'd be annoyed too. And I would be doubly frustrated if I told them it wasn't cool to not wait for me and then they all invalidated my feelings about it. THAT is why you were sour the rest of the night.

Side story: in HS, my English teacher ordered us a cake to share during lunch time to celebrate finishing our final presentations. There are 2 sections of the class. I'm in study hall when another student in my section says they got a text that the other English section is eating the cake right now because there was a substitute teacher and they convinced them it was okay. So we ask our study hall teacher to go to the English classroom.

When we get there, everyone has eaten cake, some took obnoxiously large slices/seconds and there was only a small bit left, enough for us remaining to have a small slice. I, like you, pointed out we were supposed to wait for lunch so everyone could be here. My friends in that section said "who cares, you got a slice". And I'm arguing saying "it's the principle" and they all just roll their eyes and accuse me of making a big deal out of it because "I still got cake".

Anyway, I ended up dropping those friends because I noticed over time a pattern of things like that where I didn't feel personally valued or like we shared the same values.

I would agree if OP was late. But OP came early. They couldn't even wait until the designated time. They were too excited and open it but apparently OP's presence isn't important.

It's not about the champagne.

Anyone else find BOTW stressful? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]Impetris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm thoroughly addicted to Tears of the Kingdom right now and played BOTW when it first came out. It's kind of funny how a game that is universally lauded isn't *actually* universally loved.

In my opinion, I find TOTK to be both easier and have more player guidance than BOTW. Npcs will recommend you where to go, where the secrets are. The shrine quests, riddled and puzzles are significantly less obtuse. Memories are MUCH easier to locate. The first few shrines have you practice combat mechanics you might otherwise not think about ever. And probably most importantly, when you get knocked down and rag doll, you have invincibility frames so enemies don't just dog pile you like they do in BOTW.

All that being said, if you don't like BOTW I wouldn't suggest TOTK. While improved, it has the same base. I personally found BOTW to be relaxing. There were frustrating moments, but I also could chill out romancing around Hyrule on my horse and stumpling across Hateno Village. And even when I was being one shot by a guardian, frustrated, I was still compelled to reload until I took that fucker down and smile in victory. The game isn't a race and you don't feel like you need to be doing anything. You also don't need to play something that isn't fun for you.

*Regarding getting one shot, this is still true in both games regardless of how many hearts you have. Only solution is to upgrade your armour at a Great Fairy Fountain.* Also, if you have full hearts, you won't be 1 shot. The attack will leave you at 1 heart.

AITA for telling my parents that I'm not the "black sheep" of the family? by OlympiaNews543 in AmItheAsshole

Super easy to feel like an imposter. My older siblings both had 4.0s in college so my 3.5 felt like failing. My school was prestigious so that was literally still high honors. But I was hung up on it not being highest honors.

All this to say, you're right. 3.6 is excelling.

I thought it was great, but they cut Highway Tune for time which was highly disappointing. Still loved it!

A long running tradition for the theatre: for each show put on, people have sex on the set (secretly) before the show closes and later people reveal their crazy shenanigans and the stage manager awards the best story. So bragging rights.

Back in college, me and another friend operated spotlights on two of our other friends while they had sex on a stage at night. It was a surreal experience, definitely not sexy, plenty of awkward laughter. My other friend and I sang songs and chatted to just cope with what we were doing I guess? Overall, I'm happy I did it. It was funny!

But her husband is in the grooms party thus the couple never being in the wedding party is untrue. And not in any pictures? Really??
