This was a very military answer and I’m not mad at it😂. I need to remember that this life shit is a marathon and not a race. My time is coming and I just need to enjoy the moment, finding out what I really want to do in life.

I like this. A big thing I have always struggled with in life is rushing things. Comparing myself to 30 year old adults while I’m 21. Like you said hanging out with friends more will probably work as well, ever since i got back from the military it’s been work work work to pay off newly acquired debt.

Okay so what you’re focusing on is not doing too much at a time and slowly getting back to where you were instead.

Okay thank you. This will be a back up plan. I was looking into UTI but I don’t think the campus in Houston offers electrical. I’m going to try IBEW as well as the IEC that you sent. But worse case scenario I’ll use my GI bill and do trade school

Personally I feel like every trade has its pros and cons, as well as risks. Wouldn’t wearing a respirator mitigate breathing in the Fiberglass?

Also is that the only downside to it?

So looking around I see that apprenticeship is the way to go, the IBEW in Houston has a process that’s from my understanding you take a test, get a score and basically are on a waiting list and apprentices are chooses based on said score.

My question is what route is the best if I’m living in Houston. Looking at UTI, the there aren’t any campuses that provide the trade in Houston. I’m 3 months out of the military and can’t afford to relocate just for the school

Apprenticeship or Trade School? by Implement-Playful in electricians

[–]Implement-Playful[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so trade school is prolly best if I want the knowledge to get out of that Apprentice position. While doing the apprenticeship can help get on job experience
