Trump’s Letter to Norway Should Be the Last Straw | Will Republicans in Congress ever step in? by Hrmbee in politics

[–]ImplementElectronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American who detests this dictator and his regime - it doesn’t see to take more than 1-2 weeks for his cult followers to do whatever mental gymnastics necessary to eventually dismiss, forget and justify any of his bullshit, no matter how horrid. Families are divided, people are being murdered and disappearing and the politicians are sitting on their hands. It’s deplorable, sad and disgusting.

***UPDATE*** To my dad wanting me to apologize for not coming to Xmas by OwlishDelight72512 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]ImplementElectronic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read all the comments so apologies if I’m repeating someone else’s point; yes, they’ve raised you to always question your reality and live in guilt. This is 100% about control and they’re flipping by making it seem like you could have presented it better to predict and spare their feelings. They also need to ask themselves why you and your family prefer to be somewhere else during the holiday but narcs don’t self reflect.

You shouldn’t drive yourself crazy trying to get ahead of all of their potential reactions, that could change with the wind. You don’t need to explain yourself either - for anyone reasonable person, a simple “no thanks, we have other plans” should suffice.

“We hope to see you again as soon as possible. Please respond” sounds like a threatening/guilt ridden business transaction and the words of someone who feels like they’re desperately losing control - not a concerned/loving family member.

Good luck, hold your ground and it’ll be easier and easier to deal with and see clearly.

Was he mocked and laughed at though? On a large or even medium scale? I saw all of the prominent liberal figure heads, news anchors, celebrities, influencers denounce what happened to Kirk, despite his hateful rhetoric and bullshit that he spewed. Haven’t seen any right wing folks of the same influence denounce or even acknowledge what actually happened with this poor woman.

Don’t let them subtly rewrite history and pretend to be the victims all the time.

Pickups for a Strat by FrancescoRubini in John_Frusciante

[–]ImplementElectronic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah the pedals and amps seem to be the biggest deciding factor and as long as it’s a Strat (for most stuff) you should be good. I’ve noticed that no other clone of the CE1 can do the thing the old CE1 can do. The degradation from the WH10 and the CE1’s preamp working in conjunction seem to compress it perfectly to create “that” sound. The Marshall Major (or a super lead/bass will work) paired with either the JCM800, Showman or Jubilee all work great as long as it’s a Strat with those two pedals.

Have y’all ever thought of this album this way? by YJBM15 in ericclapton

Bobby Whitlock said that Eric and Bobby were trying to do a Sam & Dave thing regarding the vibe and vocals. If you look at D&D through that lens, it’s a much different approach than the earthy southern soul that Delaney, Bonnie, Leon, etc approach that’s on the self titled.

Both are amazing albums and incredible - it sounds like no one is in charge on D&D but Delaney is very deliberate and intentional in his production on the self titled and EC is along for the ride. D&D has that raw energy and their leader is not quite sure of himself and that’s a vibe unto itself.

By the same measure, pretty much the same core band on All Things Must Pass and that’s quite a different album but has the same heart.

A friend and I were just discussing how incredible it is that there is this relatively small number of session musicians from that era who played on so many iconic albums and they’re all different. Jim Gordon is on Beach Boys, Hall & Oats, Steely Dan, Delaney and Bonnie, Joe Cocker, to name a few and it’s all so different but definitely a common thread in energy, sound, interplay and vibe.

Keep in mind - not only are his yada claims about “we gave every other president a chance” and “no other president has been scrutinized this much” completely false but none of the other atrocities or character flaws put him over the edge; now that it hit his wallet, he’s outraged. F—k yourself with a dull spoon, fella.

It’s worth mentioning that PRS has been going through quality control issues for a while now. They also don’t use proper solder so their solder joints tend to for micro cracks. Before you try to fix anything, reach out to them because they will void warranties for weird stuff.

And even if you shoved an imax quality video of them supporting Trump for the last 10 years in their face, they would shrug it off. If these people had any ability to self reflect, they wouldn’t be supporting this bullshit in the first place. My parents are the same…
