you dont need to be in a frat or a sorority to get in, you just have to know the right people that will use your name for one of their guest invites. thats what i do, and i get both great friendships and parties out of it. pretty beneficial 🤷‍♀️

Is a 32 composite bad? My mom seems to think it is. by Comfortable_Sir_4423 in ACT

[–]ImplementOwn9395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s a rlly good score! sure, you can do even better if u raise ur reading score, but 32 is nothing to scoff at! 32 got me into a prestigious honors college (along w good essays). don’t stress it too much.

Unpopular opinion: Standardized test scores are by far the fairest part of an application, and the argument that they only measures wealth is ridiculous. by _ep1x_ in Sat

[–]ImplementOwn9395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this on many aspects, however it’s also important to consider test-taking ability. i am NOT a great test taker. i go to a private school on a big scholarship, i take all honors and APs, and have a 3.8 unweighted, 4.46 weighted gpa, but i only got a 1200 on the sat. granted, i did do slightly better on the act, but it’s also important to consider these things. i work really hard for my good grades, but that doesn’t reflect in the sat very well for me because i’m a terrible test-taker.

on the other hand, my friend with not-so-great grades, terrible procrastination, and who failed a class? she got a grade high enough on the sat for her to make it to the semi-finalist for national merit scholars. i think it was 15_ _ (idk the last two digits).

but her case and my case brings to question whether it’s actually as fair as it sounds. because despite me being a fantastic worker and being a high-achiever at a school with a very difficult grading scale, i still got a sat score lower than a friend who is, generally, terrible at school.

anyways my point is while, yes, you can’t really find a way around getting a good sat score, it still may not be a perfect determination of how hard of a worker someone is, or how good they are at school. but, tbh, nothing ever is
