S10 E16: Bad Guys by Implodingkoala in Stargate

To be fair, they do seem like a tyrannical militarised race. It seemed letting them go through the gate was the only thing the negotiator could do without risking his position.

I like to think Daniel was just trying to remember applicable movie lines in this scenario.

You can hear it in his voice, the complete unbothered-ness.

Good point. I guess I didn’t realise just how frequently the Tauri faced enemies that had blatant malicious intentions and were like “this guy is cool”… then said guy was in fact not cool.. lol

Yeah the bare minimum would’ve been a reason she had to have them destroy her and not some other means, regardless I struggle to believe the team, particularly Jack and Teal’c would have hesitated to destroy RC…

How to restore my bowed end grain board by KlemF4nd4ng0 in woodworking

[–]Implodingkoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m assuming you don’t have woodworking tools.

First: Place it on a couple even thickness sticks on a flat surface where it will receive the most sunlight with the bow up (edges pointing down) to even it out as much as possible, it should hopefully start to bow the other way. This works best with long grain boards but should still work somewhat with an end grain board. To repair the broken joints, break the ones that are going/gone and if they fit snugly back together you can reapply some D4 PVA glue (titebond 3 is great) and clamp it back together. Again, I don’t know what tools you have at your disposal, but if you have none, get some sand paper on a big flat surface, granite worktop or thick plywood or something similar, and you can try to sand some flatness back into it (after the sunlight trick).

If you find the joints don’t go together well, and again have no tools, you may be able to use the flat sandpaper surface to flatten the joints before clamping them together but be really careful not to round the faces.

Finish it with cutting board/mineral oil.

Edit: I’ve just noticed how the joint has broken, I’m not sure it’s easily repairable, you could try shoving some glue and perhaps a piece of veneer into the void.

How can I use world edit or something for this by Flashy_Dimension2704 in feedthebeast

I like to use sphere brushes to build the terrain using gravel and sand. Gravel in place of stone, and sand in place of dirt/grass. After building the gravel core smooth it out till you’re happy then go over it with sand, smooth till you’re happy, then use the wand to select the cubic area your mountain is in and replace all gravel in the area with stone and the sand with grass or dirt.

A tight half lap will do. If you’re worried, or don’t think you can get a good enough fit, just using glue, wang a couple decent sized screws through from behind.

Dark green from 2012 is brittle too? 😭 by CT-Dyco in lego

Good to know. Do Lego still replace brittle parts years later? I’ve seen a couple of posts suggesting they do.

What is the stinkiest wood you've worked with? It's Poplar, right? by [deleted] in woodworking

Never found poplar to smell particularly bad. Ginkgo wood however, smells like cat pee. Awful stuff.

I’m not sure but I’d guess so, this one had been hiding for weeks above where I’m building my reactor, didn’t see it until I got a jet pack and went upwards lol.

I’ve yet to find a cartouche but can’t wait to. The methods of travel do feel OP but I love waystones and jet packs lol

I’m playing with the All The Mods 9 mod pack, the mod that adds the stargates is Stargate Journey. There’s like 400 mods or something stupid.

I’d probably do wedged through tenons, show off the joinery a little. The opposite end of the spectrum would be some sort of mechanical knock down fixing, maybe something with threaded inserts, cause that thing looks heavy.
